I created an appendix that is filled with user-friendly resources. Appendix of Resources Table of Contents page 54. Abstract This paper presents a description of the development of the Student Leadership Program at Como Lake Middle School over the past seven years. It investigates what makes student leadership effective in a Middle School, and considers literature pertaining to guiding principles and practices of effective programs. This paper also considers the effectiveness of using metaphors and reflective journals in teaching student leaders. Finally, considering the research synthesis, and upon reflection of the successes and challenges of the Leadership Program at Como Lake Middle, recommendations for improving the program are made.

When engaging volunteers it can be difficult to ensure that each volunteer receives the time, attention, and training that they need to be successful - this is where a volunteer mentoring program can help! Mentoring improves success in volunteer placement, increases recruiting and retention rates, engages seasoned volunteers and creates a sustainable practice for your organization. By encouraging a learning culture through mentoring, you can ensure that volunteers take an active role in spreading knowledge and best practices throughout their organization. In the first part of this two-part session, you'll learn how a mentoring program can benefit your volunteer engagement program and your organization, and some key steps and best practices for creating a mentoring program. Part II will cover building and managing a team of volunteer mentors. While it is strongly encouraged and extremely beneficial to attend both Part I and Part II of this series, attending both is not required.

[Deck from the Interaction 13 Conference in Toronto, Canada. Synopsis below.] “We’re way off schedule. Everyone is disengaged. We can't get everyone on board with the vision. I’m not proud of the work we’re producing.” Sound familiar? Design doesn’t happen inside a vacuum. It happens inside teams, inside the context of relationships, inside physical spaces, inside organizations with very particular cultures. Ignore that intricate ecosystem, and you might as well give your project a death sentence. In this workshop, you'll learn about tools and techniques you can use to shape projects that are not only successful, but enjoyable. You'll learn the benefits of proactively designing team culture, walk you through the process of creating a healthy foundation, empower you with methods to improve unhealthy culture mid-stream, and show you ways to keep everyone engaged throughout the design process. Then, you’ll try it out for yourself: with feedback and mentorship, you’ll craft new methods and approaches that are appropriate to take back and try out in your team or company…no matter what your job title. By the end of this hands-on workshop, you'll know how to get projects started on the right foot, co-create without compromising output, and inspire teams, clients, and stakeholders. More importantly, you'll find that you can work towards dramatically improved project outcomes…without all the drama along the way. =============================== This workshop & deck were created by Cooper & Teresa Brazen www.cooper.com/training, @cooper www.TeresaBrazen.com, @TeresaBrazen

Slides developed for Boy Scout Training but not official slides from the BSA. The Fundamentals of Training course is the first phase of the three-part train-the-trainer continuum (T3, or T-Cubed) in the Boy Scouts of America. The course’s purpose is to introduce teaching techniques and skills to new Scout trainers as well as help those Scouters, regardless of their experience, present effective training. It will also help those who may have trained for other organizations learn the BSA’s training techniques and will help “freshen up” the skills of current BSA trainers. The course is intended for both youth and adult trainers.

Wizards are very useful for creating a good user experience. In all businesses, interactive sessions are most beneficial. To improve the user experience, wizards in Odoo provide an interactive session. For creating wizards, we can use transient models or abstract models. This gives features of a model class except the data storing. Transient and abstract models have permanent database persistence. For them, database tables are made, and the records in such tables are kept until they are specifically erased.
