Having implemented a multi-operating company and a multi-time zone Oracle Utilities MDM in 2016, AEP
currently has one of the largest on-premise MDM implementations supporting 3.7M AMI meters. As AEP
embarks upon a digital transformation journey to not only better serve its customers but also move to a
modern SaaS architecture for its core M2C systems, different solution and implementation options and
approaches will need to be considered.
Different Oracle systems/components that are part of the SaaS platform like Operational Device
Management (ODM), Service Order Management (SOM), and Smart Grid Gateway (SGG) amongst
others will have to be evaluated to determine their feasibility in the overall solution and their integration
with MDM and other edge systems.
Lastly, no SaaS roadmap or solution is complete unless we take into consideration the conversion effort
and its associated volume. Join us for a conversation as we discuss AEP's SaaS roadmap for systems in
