3. CLASSIFICATION OF SIX STROKE ENGINE
SINGLE PISTON DESIGN
• GRIFFIN SIX STROKE
• BAJULAZ SIX STROKE
• CROWLER SIX STROKE
• VELOZETA SIX STROKE
OPPOSED PISTON DESIGN
• BEARE HEAD
• M4+2
• PISTON CHARGER ENGINE
6. COMPARISON OF 4-STROKE AND 6-STROKE
ENGINE
4-STROKE
• One Power Stroke
• Up to 35% Efficiency
• More Emissions
• Minimal Power
• One Working Fluid
6-STROKE
• Two Power Stroke
• Up to 45% Efficiency
• Comparatively Less Emission
• More Power
• Two Working Fluid
7. ENGINE MODIFICATIONS REQUIRED TO CONVERT
4 STROKE TO 6 STROKE
1. Crankshaft to Camshaft ratio modification
2. Crank has 1080 degree of rotation for 360 degree rotation of camshaft
3. Sprocket have teeth ratio 3:1
4. 34 teeth sprocket is replaced with 42 teeth of camshaft
5. 17 teeth sprocket is replaced with 14 teeth of crankshaft
6. Changes in cam lobes
7. 360 degree of cam is divided into 60 degree among 6 strokes
8. ADVANTAGES
• Reduction in fuel consumption.
• Dramatic reduction in pollution normally upto 65%.
• Less friction-so less wear and tear.
• The six stroke engine does not require any major modifications .
• Engine cooling system is not required…so the overall weight of engine is
reduced.
• Higher overall efficiency .
• Second working fluid I.e. Water is found in abundance compared to fossil
fuels.
• More power obtained…due to two power strokes
