Jute Crafts is a Bangladeshi organization that provides training and market opportunities to artisans who produce handicrafts from jute. It was founded in 2000 under a different name to help underprivileged groups develop skills to earn a livelihood. Jute Crafts opened local outlets in 2010 to sell the products of artisans who received training but lacked market access. The organization's vision is to help the poor and marginalized utilize their skills through crafts. It provides training, creates local and international markets for products, and motivates producers to improve quality and expand their design range.
3. Overview:
Many of the people, who obtained training from Jute Crafts, were capable to
produce Handicrafts goods. But it was realized that those people had no
market opportunity to sale their produced products. So Jute Crafts opened
local outlet in 2010 to sustain the artisans.
Vision:
To work with under-privileged groups to help them develop and utilize their
skill to earn their livelihood.
Mission:
To organizing people with skill and semi-skill in crafts under poverty line and
facilitated them to make marketable products to earn their livelihood.
Objectives:
1. To organize poor and marginalized people, who are semi-skilled and
skilled on Handicrafts products to help them earn their livelihood.
2. To provide training to the Artisans on handicrafts to enable them for
making marketable products.
3. To create market for products of Bangladeshi disadvantaged artisan
locally and internationally.
4. To develop the product range through research works.
5. To motivate producers and artisans to build up their awareness.
6. To provide consultancy about product quality, competitive price, updated
design and standard raw materials to the poor artisans’ groups.

Natural Handicrafts. Officially Jute Crafts
has started in 2014. Jute Crafts has
inspired to create jobs and employment
for the underprivileged women who were
living in rural areas of Bangladesh.

4. Handmade Jute Paper Processing:
Cutting: Cutting of jute twine west or other fibers 2″ length.
Soaking: Soaking cut fiber twine in 2%-7% solution of caustic soda.
Steaming: Steaming soaked fiber/twine pressure.
Washing: Washing steamed fiber/twine in clean.
Beating: Beating washed fibers/twine in beater to make pulp. Beaching is
required.
Washing: Washing pulp with clean water.
Paper Lifting: Floating pulp in vats and lifting paper by hand with bamboo
screens.
Pressing: Pressing lifted paper in between cotton cloth pieces lender
hydraulic press.
Separating: Separating pressed sheets of paper from cloth and pasting on
zinc coated sleet sheets.
Drying: Drying sheets in sun or on mechanical dryer.
Shorting and Quality Control: Shorting and checking quality of sheets.
Storage: Storage of acceptable sheets before products making.
Product Making and Storage: Making products quality control of products
and storage of finished products.
