1920 Anvers Olympics
   Antwerp was chosen as the venue as a way to honor those
    wounded in the First World War and Belgian fighters in this
    war.
   For the first time made ​the Oath of Athletes , and was
    raised for the first time the Olympic flag , with, on white
    background, with the five Olympic rings.
   For the first time, participants could only go to the Games
    through the National Olympic Committees.




                        EVENTS
   These are the most important sports:
    athletics, boxyng, cycling, football,
    gymnastics, swimming, modern
    pentathlon, pole, rowing, tennis, jumps
    and water polo.

   SPAIN IN THE OLYMPICS
   Paavo Nurmi
   was an athlete Finnish . During the 20s , was
    considered the best distance runner and
    middle-distance runner in the world, setting
    world records at distances ranging from
    1,500 m and 20 km.
   With a total of 12 medals (9 gold medals and
    3 silver), Nurmi was the most successful
    Olympic athlete to be overcome in the 2012
    London Olympics by Michael Phelps .
