2. Starting
First I chose an image which later was imported into Photoshop. I image was then cropped to a
compressed to a smaller size using the image>image size tools available. After this it was time to
save the image.

3. InDesign
After InDesign was loaded, the box tool was
selected and a square template was made for the
image to go into, the image was then later
imported through the open section in ‘File’.

4. Adding Text and developing
After the image was compressed it was
then time to add text to form the article.
After the text was chosen and imported it
was time to start grouping where it was
going to be displayed on the page.

5. Finishing
A Dropped capital was added using the paragraph
section under ‘Type’ on the tool bar. You could then
decide how many lines you wanted the letter to take
up.
As you can see the text is compressed in 3 columns.
This is so it is kept neat and symmetrical. The image is
located in the centre of page as this is the main focal
point of the article. The Dropped Capital is used to
show the start of the paragraph and is considered a
formal opening to any piece of text.

6. Exporting
After everything was organised it was time
to export the image as a JPEG. This was to
remove the lines that were helping in
making the page neat.

7. The End Product
One with Guidelines and one without.

8. Extension task
Here I have been experimenting with the
placement of the text and image on a 3x3 grid.
This is going against the rules on how you should
present it. The text is not in line with the grid units
provided on the page, this therefore gives the
impression that it has not been thought about and
the overlapping nature of the image is made to
look unprofessional.
This is an example on how you should not display
your article, using overlapping of text on image.
This is frowned at in the industry as it is seen as
unorganised and not easy to read. Which is why
columns are used.
This is an example showing
where not to place the
image you are using. This is
over an alley that should be
kept clear.

9. Here the image takes up 2 out of the 3 grids
given. The text therefore being the other
third. The image fits well in the guidelines
given and ultimately makes the text look
neater being in a singular column.
However, the alley is not left free
between the image and the text.
