radio frequency transmission. The hybrid design
provides cost-effective wireless device expan-
sion up to the capacities of each system.

press and Concord 4 systems that communicates Learn Mode wireless transmission
events to the panel : maximum connection length is 1000 feet
with 22AWG (standard quad)/2500 feet with18AWG cable. The
wireless range for the transceiver is 1000 feet, so the device is ideal for applications
requiring longer than average transmission distances. Up to four can be connected to a
single control panel. Includes tamper switch (activates an alarm if the cover is removed
while the system is armed). Power for the module is provided by the panel. Housed in
a plastic enclosure.

Networx NX series panels are hardwired sys-
tem with optional wireless support that can be
added at any time. The systems are ideal for
residential and light commercial applications
requiring only hardwired sensors, but offer RF
support and access control expansion when re-
quired. Networx-compatible wireless sensors
are listed in section 3 (Learn Mode Wireless
Sensors).
Networx features include :
• Wireless expansion through boards that install in the control enclosure, external receiver in a
separate enclosure, or LCD keypad with built-in wireless receiver. On-board hardwired zones can
be disabled to provide a completely wireless system.
• Optional proximity reader module that provides proximity tag arming / disarming and local access
control : support different commands for single scan, double scan and hold of proximity token.
• 4 onboard transistor outputs can be programmed to activate for any of over 50 system events.

NX540 Telephone Control Module
The NX-540 is a microcomputer controlled telephone interface module that may be
added to NX-6 and NX-8 control panels. The NX540 converts any touchtone tele-
phone to a system keypad and allows system functions to be accessed via telephone
on premise or off-site. There are 48 separate zone descriptions that may be pro-
grammed to fit the owner’s needs. Each zone/output description is programmable us-

The single door control module adds access control to NetworX systems : it can be
installed inside the NX panel enclosure and supports industry standard Wiegand
readers inputs (optionally, the unit may be installed as far as 2500 feet away from the
control panel in a separate housing). NetworX panels can support a door control
event log and scheduling such as open/closed/holiday. The module has a zone input
that monitors the door without requiring separate zone wires from the panel or addi-
tional zone expanders. The NX-1710E’s on-board relay supports switching power of
up to 5 amps (120 VAC / 30 VDC) for door locking mechanisms. Each NX-1710E
door module supports up to two readers per door. Up to three NX-1710E door mod-
ules may be connected to an NX-6 system (supporting up to 40 users) : Up to sixteen
NX-1710E door modules may be connected to an NX-8 system (supporting up to 99

The NX Series indoor/ outdoor Smart Reader supports the use of cards and fobs to
arm / disarm the system and / or open a controlled door. Up to fifteen may be con-
nected directly to the NX panel : the system logs all arm and disarm activity and iden-
tifies fob users in the onboard event buffer. Three different commands may be carried
out with user tokens (single scan, double scan, and hold time scan). The reader also
includes a low current trigger output for operating a door strike/magnetic lock, one
egress input (for a request-to-exit button), a programmable optical tamper switch, and
LEDs that can be programmed to follow the door output or armed/ready status of the

Extends access reader Weigand outputs. For use in locations greater than 500 feet from
the access controller. Compatible with any Access Control Unit and Readers supporting
the Wiegand data format. Built-in door status monitoring, unlock relay and request to
exit input reduces cable and installation costs. The transmitter PCB provides inputs for
Door status monitoring (DSS) and Request To Exit (RTE) devices and an output to con-
trol unlock relay. The receiver PCB provides outputs for Door status monitoring and Re-
quest To Exit (RTE) and an input from the unlock relay for connection to any compatible
access control unit. Extends standard 500 foot Wiegand cable distance up to 4000 feet
using proprietary RS485 communications between transmitter and receiver. NOTE : the
PCBs require 1 amp of power and housing—for sites where these are not already avail-
able use product number 100-5488, which includes a 2.5 amp power supply for housing
the transmitter PCB (the receiver PCB can be powered by and mounted in AFx door
controllers).

The 2-door controller PCB is used to add support for two access-controlled doors in
applications where an AFx multi-door controller is already installed with fewer than four
door controller boards in the cabinet. Includes battery and transformer (power supplies
for door strikes must be added separately). Used with 100-8104, 100-8105, or 100-
8106 access controller packages (see page 4•21 ).
