2. The most popular answer that was given
to the question “What is your age?” was 11
to 17. This shows us that the majority of
our audience is fairly young. The second
most popular option was 18 to 24 which
once again is young. 84% of our audience
are young people between the ages of 11
and 24 meaning that their answers to the
survey questions may be slightly different
to that of the remaining 16% of the people
we asked who are aged between 35 to 74
and so are an older audience. This means
we will have to cater our advert, music
video and digipak for an audience aged
between 11 and 24 as this how old the
majority of the audience are aged.

3. 60% of our audience is female while
the remaining 40% were male.
Because there is an almost equal
split in the gender of our audience it
will help us when it comes to making
our digipaks, advert and music video
as we can make them so that they
can be watched and enjoyed by
everyone as they wont be gender
specific.

4. The picture of the band or artist appeals the
most to our audience however we will have
to work around this as it isn’t possible for us
to take a picture of the band as some of
them are dead. A way we can work around
this is by doing a photo that pays homage
to them that fans of the band will recognise.
The second most popular option at 24% is
an abstract image so this is another
possible option for our digipak. The image
could relate to the music video or maybe be
unrelated. The colour scheme and band
name were the least most important and so
are something we don’t have to spend as
much time on planning.

gotten from the survey into
consideration when we create our
digipak. Whilst the design of the
digipak was the favourite feature
we cannot replicate it for ours as it
is impractical however the layout
and colour scheme are also ranked
as fairly important so we can take
some inspiration from it.

common on this digipak were the
colour scheme, the fonts, the image
and the layout as 20% of the people
asked chose them. 8% of the people
asked chose design whilst 12%
chose other. The answers for
relevant weren’t relevant and wont
help with our research.

and the design were the most popular
answers that were given. The images
and layout were the second most
important with images and layout
being least important. Two people
chose other however the answers left
were not relevant.

The colours, images and fonts
used for this digipak are quite
feminine and wont fit with the
band that we have chosen
however we could model our
digipak design on this one by
having a simple 6 card design.

The design was the most popular
feature of this digipak. The third most
popular choice was the images and the
layout with 16% of the people asked
choosing them whilst the third most
popular option was the colour scheme,
fonts and the other category with 8% of
the people asked chose them. The
other category told us that 8% of the
people asked found the digipak boring.
We can take this on board and make
sure that we don't create a digipak that
is similar to this.

magazine advert?
We asked this question to get a better
idea of what our audience likes in a
magazine advert for an album. This will
help us in our research as we can get
an idea of what our audience look for.
The album artwork and the band image
seem to be most important whilst the
release date and colour scheme also
seem to be ranked fairly high. We will
pay close attention to this when
creating our magazine advert.
11. What do you think is most important in a music
video?
The narrative is the most important
according to our research with 60%
of our audience choosing it. We can
use this information when planning
our music video so instead of
having performance in it (which only
16% chose) we can focus more on
the story. This will make planning
easier as we know what our
audience likes in a video and so will
be able to use this later on.
12. Do you like to see the artist or band in a music
video?
The majority of our audience said that
they liked seeing the artist or band in a
music video with 68% of the people
we asked choosing it. However we
cant have the artist or band in our
video as it is just not possible. Instead
we will have to use different people.
13. What's your favourite thing about a music video?
The majority of the audience said
that they enjoy the song the most
about the music video. The story was
the second most popular option with
28% of people choosing it. We will
use this information for when we plan
our video as we will make sure our
music video is focused on the story
and the song.
