The aim of this paper is to present a concise analysis of data and facts about China's role in Africa. It is worth noting that the term "development partner" is not meant in the narrow sense of development aid, or development cooperation, but refers to the commitment of the two parties to work together to achieve development. China's involvement in Africa is therefore seen as part of a long-term strategic commitment to the continent, stemming from its own economic needs, and aimed at transferring its development experience to the continent and its desire to build effective partnerships across the developing world.
