2. Provide examples of assessments
Utilize a user-friendly platform (Pbworks)
Illustrate how to use Pbworks
Provide sources for digital/online assessment
support
3. The main goal of our project is to illustrate that
effective assessments can be produced for
online/digital learning. The central theme is
that effective online/digital assessments
provide opportunities for greater collaboration
and feedback, as well as higher levels of
learning.
4. Provided tutorials for setting up assessments
Compiled resources to assist with
implementation
Provided instructions for how to set-up
Pbworks
Created our own Group 5 Pbworks portfolio
5. Transition : Initial Project to
the Final Object
The Initial Project : The objective was to design an
assessment using a Power Point presentation to
deliver the instruction. The idea was to make the
PP interactive, so the users can select action
buttons in the PP. The project had some problems
while recording audio, and we tried to “lock up “
the slides, but the transfer from PP to the MP4
artifact failed. One can’t transfer the “hotspots”
and its functionality to images.
6. Transition ( Continue)
The Final Object: Our team created a new
perspective for the final object. A tutorial program to
help users to create their own assessments online.
Based on the Pbworks platform, my team and I
selected the most important features; in order to help
users to create their own designs, we also revealed
the most powerful capabilities of the site. The
tutorials (3) are different but they cover most of the
features. The design was in PP as planned, but using
Camtasia Studio 7.1 my team solved the audio
problems (because one can record audio w/pause in
one or more slides, or continuously).
7. Group Collaboration: Team work
As a group we started with the wrong foot. To select our
topic, we couldn’t visualize the big picture at once. After
some discussions, and several emails, we agreed to
research information about “assessments.” Afterwards,
we selected only (4) related articles about our subject
matter, but we hit the wall when we found that face-to-
face assessments are ineffective in multimedia
environments. Moreover, our team started a new quest,
this time our focus was towards educators and
instructional designers. The effort paid off very soon,
because based on the new findings, we realized that we
needed to select our learning environment, and delivery
method. Finally, we decided to design our project using
pbworks.
