Why does Molahaimian the star retire
1. 5.1.15 – The Shipper.
Why does the star Molahaimian retire?
Maersk,Safmarine andSeagoare goingthrougha processof transferringthe tasksof the
finance departments, fromall countriesaroundthe world, toaservice centre inthe
Philippines, just likethe same processthatthe customerservice departmentrecentlywent
through.
The goal of thisglobal processisstandardizationandsimplificationof the finance processes
while increasingefficiencyanddecreasingcosts.
The process, inits newfull format, wasimplementedinothercountriesandnow Israel is
requiredtogo throughthe same processof fullytransferringthe tasksof the finance
department–Says the CEO of the companyinIsrael – Gil Miller.
Gil says "thisprocess,toits fullest,verysignificantlyreducesthe scope,the pressure andthe
responsibilitiesof the finance department.Thus,inmutual agreementwithMolahaimian,
the CFO, he has decidedtoretire fromMaerskIsrael."
Miller:"Underthe leadershipof Molahaimian, the finance departmentinIsrael hasbecome
to be the leadingfinancedepartmentinthe entire Maerskgroupinanyperformance
measurements, andhe hada crucial contributiontothissuccess. We are full of esteemto
the excellentworkof Molahaimian, whowasperceivedasarole model andan example in
boththe local andthe global organization."
Molahaimianwouldretire atthe endof February2015. Millerhasannouncedthe current
Finance Controller,TomerKoresh, tobe the managerof the finance department, starting
March 1st
2015.
Molahaimian:"Ihave had an exceptional 12yearsin Maersk, out of which10 of themwere
inthe role of the CFO responsible of Maersk,SeagoandSafmarine.Iwouldlike tothankall
the people Ihave metand that were partof thisamazing journeyandespeciallymy
wonderful team members –due to theirexcellentwork, the finance departmentinIsrael has
achievedthese outstandingaccomplishments."
"I am lookingbackat thisperiodwithagreat pride – duringthisperiod, the finance
departmentwasalwaysatthe top of all global measurements, afew articleswere published
inthe MaerskIntranetdescribingdifferentsuccessesof the departmentinIsrael,we have
receivedcountlesse-mailsfromall aroundthe Maerskworldwithpraisesregardingthe
achievementsof the department,we have successfullyimplementedfew systems,we have
learnedhowtosuccessfullyworkinastructure of local and remote team(inthe service
centers) andwe have alwaysmaintainedhighlevel of engagementamongthe team
members.Iam veryhappyof the periodIhad in Maersk."
2. It's only the ironyof fate that the excellence of Molahaimianisthe reasonforhisretirement.
In an article abouthim, publishedinthe Shippermagazine from2012, we have discussedthe
role of the global service centers(forexample –Indiaandthe Philippines).Notonlyavast
oceanseparatesbetweenthemandthe west,butalsocultural andorganizational gaps.
Israel hasbecome to be a global role model inthe Maerskgroup, such that eventhe A.P
MollerMaerskgroup CEO – NilsAndersen, wasimpressedand hasmentionedthe
functioningof Molahaimian'sdepartment,asthe Israeli financeteamhassucceededin
creatingstrongwork andengagementrelationshipamongthe remote teamsinthe service
centers.Molahaimianwasrequestedtowrite anarticle aboutthissuccessandwas invitedto
presentthe keyfactorsof successfullycombiningthe local andremote teams, inthe global
CFO meeting.
The fact is that actuallyhisretirementisatestimonyto hissuccess.Hiscontributiontoa

of Defense hasendedall wars orthe Ministry of Healthhas wipedoutall illnesses.
