OurStatewassignificantlyimpactedfromHurricaneIan,andtherewillbesubstantialcostsfor
individualsinourStatetorecover.Tohelp,VolunteerFloridahasactivatedtheFloridaDisaster
Fund.TheFloridaDisasterFundistheStateofFlorida'sofficialprivatefundestablishedto
providefinancialassistancetoourcommunitiesastheyrespondtoandrecoverfromtimesof
emergencyordisaster.Inpartnershipwithpublic,private,andothernon-
Low-interestdisasterloansfromtheU.S.SmallBusinessAdministration(SBA)are
availabletobusinessesandresidentsinFloridafollowingtheannouncementofa
PresidentialdisasterdeclarationduetoHurricaneIanbeginningSept.23.Thedisaster
ThedisasterdeclarationcoversCharlotte,Collier,DeSoto,Hardee,Hillsborough,Lee,Manatee,Pinellasand
SarasotacountiesinFlorida,whichareeligibleforbothPhysicalandEconomicInjuryDisasterLoansfromtheSBA.
Smallbusinessesandmostprivatenonprofitorganizationsinthefollowingadjacentcountiesareeligibletoapply
onlyforSBAEconomicInjuryDisasterLoans(EIDLs):Broward,Glades,Hendry,Highlands,Miami-Dade,Monroe,
PascoandPolkinFlorida.Disasterloansupto$200,000areavailabletohomeownerstorepairorreplace
disaster-damagedordestroyedrealestate.Homeownersandrentersareeligibleforupto$40,000torepairor
replacedisaster-damagedordestroyedpersonalproperty.ApplicantsmayapplyonlineusingtheElectronicLoan
