Emirates, was employed as an Electronics Maintenance Engineer at World Wide Power Services
FZCO (hereinafter "the Company") from June 20, 2012 until June 19, 2015, in accordance with the
original contract between Alwyn and the Company.
In this position his tasks/assignments included the following:
• Troubleshot and Repaired Ross Hill©, ISC©, EPD©, National Oil Varco (NOV©), and Integrated
Power Systems (IPS)© on-shore and off-shore rig SCR systems.
• Installed, programmed, and commissioned various ·brands of digital engine-generator
controllers , voltage regulators and load share controllers such as Woodward©, Basler and
Caterpillar©.
• Installed, repaired, tested, and commissioned various brands of Soft-Starters, Variable
Frequency Drives and Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) systems (Emotron©, Benhsaw©,
Allen-Bradley©, Siemens©)and large-frame (up to 2400AF) Circuit Breakers.
• Performed basic field calibration, repair and trouble-shooting of Ross Hill, NOV based AC and DC
Control Module.
• Repaired and troubleshot rig crane control systems (EPD).
• Performed Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT) and Site Acceptance Testing (SAT) of generator
control switch gear equipment, control systems, and distribution systems.
• Carried out insulation resistance testing (Megger©, Ductor©), and power quality analysis
testing.
• Provided inputs during design of new control systems, attended client meetings at the behest of
the company, coordinated work, materials supply and logistics in various projects.
• Worked as an on-site Project engineer and supervisor for various refurbishment and build
projects undertaken by the company in various locations in the Middle East.
On a more personal level, Alwyn was a joy to work with. He was nearly always of good cheer and
demeanor, even under stressful oil-field-related time and performance constraints. With his
balanced disposition and friendly nature, he was able to effortlessly integrate into all project teams.
Alwyn was a meticulous and diligent employee. For the three years working for our Company, his
work was always of superior quality, easily placing him among the very best of our junior
engineering staff. He is quick-learning, very dynamic, and hard-working. He is very willing to take
over new challenges and responsibilities. He was well-liked among his task group members.
