In 2015, 16 schools and 101 Young Leaders participated in the marathon,
supporting a range of projects related to education, childcare, healthcare, and environment

8. Young Leaders
This category of participants honours the efforts of the largest
demographic of India, the youth, who have come forward with
passion and determination to raise money for great causes
Students who raise a minimum of Rs. 50,000 will be featured as Young Leaders
For SCMM 2016, 101 Young Leaders raised a total of Rs. 1,31,28,117 for 13 NGOs

Fun ways to raise funds as a community
Read-A-Thon
Carnival
Arts & Crafts
✓ Pledge to read a certain number of books/ pages
✓ Ask family and friends to sponsor pledge by providing a small donation (i.e. Rs. 5/ page)
✓ Maintain reading log and collect signatures from sponsors
✓ Collect total donations after month of Read-A-Thon
✓ Set up games at different stalls (i.e. Soda Toss, Archery, etc.)
✓ Print tickets and sell to students, parents, faculty, and the community
✓ Enjoy a night of festivity and fun
✓ Participate in arts and crafts as a community to create homemade works of art
✓ Make cards, posters, trinkets, keychains, etc.

Pre-Marathon:
✓ Assist in the registration process
✓ Visit your school, meet your students and help them understand the cause they are supporting
✓ Organize a fun and meaningful engagement activity (as as a mangrove plantation drive) for
your employees
✓ Help keep the motivation levels high through e-mailers
✓ Help students with their pledge raising efforts
✓ Collect bibs for your team at the Marathon Expo
Race Day:
