Neat Keeps Customer Accounts Protected
with AWS
Neat wanted to ensure that its
services complied with Hong Kong
Monetary Authority regulations. To do
so, the company needed an IT
infrastructure that could support its
core fintech application without
adding significant cost to the
business.
Neat’s fintech application runs on
Amazon EC2 instances with
Amazon RDS for PostgreSQL for
all the app’s databases. The app
sits inside an Amazon VPC and
uses Amazon GuardDuty to
detect potential network threats
and viruses, while monitoring
events from AWS CloudTrail and
Amazon VPC logs. An AWS
Lambda instance is triggered
upon threat detection.

WeLend Frees Up 15% of Engineers’ Time
Using AWS
WeLend is an online lender providing
unsecured loans to individuals. The
startup wanted to focus on product
development to quickly bring its
application to market, and chose to
launch on the Heroku cloud platform.
However, as the application was up
and running, the business looked for
an alternative cloud provider for more
control over its IT infrastructure so it
could tailor its workloads.
WeLend migrated all workloads to
AWS. It processes big data on
Amazon EC2 and stores it in
Amazon S3 buckets. Its database
fully sits in Amazon RDS and
uses Amazon CloudFront to
distribute its services. It also uses
Amazon Shield and AWS WAF to
bolster security, and Amazon
GuardDuty to intelligently monitor
workloads—eliminating manual
monitoring.
