Amazon EC2 offers a variety of compute instances and is well-suited to every imaginable use case, from static websites to high-performance supercomputing on demand. In this session, we review Amazon EC2 and explore its latest features, including new instance families and how to export Amazon Lightsail instances and volumes to Amazon EC2. We explain differences between hardware types and capabilities, optimal use cases, using Amazon EC2 with Amazon Elastic Block Store (Amazon EBS) for high performance, and scalable storage attached to your instances for relational and nonrelational databases. We also cover best practices for optimizing your Amazon EC2 expenditure.
