VIDEO CONFERENCING TOOLS
2. A quality, cost-effective synchronous communication tool is a necessity for the Transition
Department at our growing firm.
Considering the needs and budget, I selected and compared two tools that would help
us excel when training and delivering information to new firms.
As a former user of GoToMeeting, and a current user of Zoom, I thought it was important
to reevaluate both to ensure our company is utilizing the best tool available to meet our
training needs and the needs of our new firms.

PROS
7. • Confusion for attendees on how to
move or minimize the control panel
• Attendees tend to join via phone and
computer audio by accident
• Web App has limitations for attendees
• Attendees can join without entering
PIN (causing confusion for presenter)
• Desktop sharing versus single
application sharing - pop-up
window issues
• Automation of webcam for
attendees
• Attendees can join without
entering PIN (causing
confusion for presenter)
CONS
8. After careful consideration, I would like to recommend
Zoom as our online conferencing tool.
While I prefer GoToMeeting from a presenter
standpoint, Zoom has proven to be more user friendly
for the attendees, which in my opinion is more
important. If the attendees’ experience logging in and
navigating the tool is negative, then the training will not
be as effective.
The cloud based app makes logging in effortless for the
users.
In addition, the tool is cost-effective.
