BIG INVESTMENT – UNDENIABLY BEST SUPPORT AVAILABLE FOR WINDOWS CLIENTSNOTE : W7 direct access is not currently committed to RTM. When discussing VPN protection, discuss with customer what the timeline is for adopting DirectAccess. Planned for DPM v3 SP1 unless customer feedback is overwhelming.
DPM to DPM failover and failback is intentionally one-click and not automatic – since WAN connections might make automatic/transparent protection across sites undesireable. Can be automated as a responsive task within System Center Operations Manager with Management Pack.
This is in response to early DPM 2007 adopters – DPM servers need to protect more production servers each.
