Preliminary Visit
Preliminary visit was made on Saturday, Sept 13, 2014. Complete factory visit was conducted by axel
engineering team with client representative Mr. Hafeez. At the end of the visit, a meeting was done with
Mr. Tanveer to discuss the day. Mr Tanveer detailed the scope of the work and accompanied the Axel team
through a factory again.
Scope of the work
ANNEXURE ‘A’
Steam System
1. Two day audit of the complete steam system of the plant including the furnace, boiler, piping,
insulation, water treatment and condensate recovery system.
2. Flue gases analyzer and temperature gun would be used to take measurements.
3. Focus during the audit would be on:
a) Identification of the quantity and cost of fuel consumed.
b) Identification of energy wastages.
c) Excess air calculation.
d) Calculation of heat losses from the piping system.
e) Calculation of boiler efficiency.
4. Water quality and chemical dosing.
