Accountable for providing leadership to teams of 70+ designer and engineers working within
Canada and offices in Asia. Provide interface between Canadian office and offices India and
China for High Value Engineering (HVE). The responsibilities include, understanding work and
social cultures at home and support office locations. Interfacing with both office teams to

pump stations along 3,500 km of pipeline designed to carry crude oil from Edmonton in

Accountable for detailed design and engineering activities including delivery of more than
18,000+ engineering deliverables. Prepared electrical specifications, data sheets, control and
protection philosophy, load lists, interface signal lists, utility data and information lists. Review
of electrical studies and calculations including voltage drop and flicker, motor starting, load
flow, grounding and relay coordination at various voltage levels. Prepared Material

/ design basis and single line diagrams. Develop plant control systems (DCS and SCADA)
and electrical equipment interface philosophies, typical interface schemes and wiring
diagrams. Prepare hazardous area classification drawings for chemical and petrochemical
facilities. Participation in overall plant layout for locations of electrical infra structure such as
substations, prime cable routes, captive generators, emergency generators, transformers, etc.

Create specifications of misc. plant electrical equipment / systems such as misc. distribution
transformers, UPS, heat tracing systems, electrical elevators, cranes and hoists, Cathodic

Prepare specifications for various bulk items such as cables, cable trays, lighting fixtures,
sockets, JBs and other associate bulk items based on contractual requirement, process

Prepare Package Unit (PU) specifications for the integration of various mechanical equipment
packages to plant control systems such as conveyors, shiploaders, liquid gas ship loading
arms, bulk material reclaimers, vibratory screens, bucket elevators, thickener, clarifiers, belt
filters and filter presses. Specifications for the integration of various Special Purpose
Machines (SPM) packages such as extruders, cathode / anode handling crane, anode
washing and flattening machine, cathode stripping machine, cathode bundle transfer system,
induction melting furnace, casting machine, stacking, strapping and weighing machine.
Design and specifications for fire and gas alarm systems, firefighting (Inergen, sprinkler and
deluge) system and siren systems based on contractual and international statutory

Prepare designs and specifications for plant communication systems including public address,
intercoms, telephones, data networks and CCTV based on contractual and international
statutory requirements.
Detail Design / Engineering Activities
Review and interpretation of basic engineering/FEED packages from Licensor or Project
Management Consultant and request clarifications.
Preparation of various drawing and construction documentation as listed below as per
international and local codes and standards.
Prepare and maintain detailed list of consumers thru out the project. Prepare electrical
building layouts, switchyard layouts (upto 400 kV). Prepare installation drawings indicating
cable routes and electrical consumers, lighting, grounding and communication systems.
Prepare installation drawings for bus-duct, DC busbars for electrolysis facilities. Prepare
typical installation diagrams and hook ups, detailed schematic drawings, termination /
interconnection schedules, for cable schedules. Plan and prepare installation drawings for
cable sealing systems such as multi-cable transit. Coordination with other disciplines thru out
