Ph.D. Researcher (2011-2016)
Doctoral thesis research conducted with Dr. D.B. Deosarkar
Title: Genetic evaluation for yield, yield contributing characters and fibre
quality in upland cotton (Gossypium hirsutum L.).
Investigated impact of genotype x environment interaction on heterozygotes
and homozygotes genotypes for yield stability to determine most stable
population type across varying range of environments. Stability was
measured in terms heterobeltiosis, gene effects and regression model.

RESEARCH INTERESTS
To investigate the components of crop yield stability to achieve stable
yield performance across the environments by assessing genotype x
environment interaction. Stability observed between population types
differing for levels and types of diversity are dependent on the genetic
architecture, trait studied, mating design, stability statistic used for the
analysis and the number of environments tested for population types. I
recognised that by verifying exact interaction and magnitude of impact of
environment on all these factors, stable yield performance could be achieved
across the different environments.
