Sometimes we may feel like we have chosen wrong, or that we are not good at what we do. But it only takes practices and hard work to help you realize what a magnificent profession EFL is!

● Teaching Approach: This lesson plan has been based on a Direct Method as the
students are focusing only in the language they have to learn during the lesson.
Here the main focus is on oral and speaking skills which are taught through
repetitive drilling.
● Integration Skills: Both listening and speaking skills have been integrated in
order for students to acquire the new target language.
● Material and resources: Flashcards, video, rocks leaves and a box
● Pedagogical use of ICT: To expose the students to the target language in an
entertaining and appealing way the use of ICT is achieved through a Video
related to the topic to be presented.
● Seating arrangement: Students will sit in a circle at first but then they will sit on
their chairs as a arranged by the class teacher.
● Assessment in class: Students will revise previous language and apply it to the
learning of new target language. The teacher will monitor and encourage
speaking situations as the class develops.
Routine 3’
3. I greet the students as I walk in. We sit in a circle and sing the Hello Song:
Lyrics:Hello, Hello how are you? How are you today? I am fine, I am Great! I'm very well
today! This is Agus, This is Shanti (and we continue to name each student’s name).
Warm up - Lead in4’
Look outside. There are many things outside. ( I take out 4 flashcards a bug, the sun, a
tree and a flower). All these things are outside. Then I point at each card (one at the
time) and say What is this? A flower? Yes this is a Flower!
Presentation 8’
Now let’s go to our book on page 46 (I gesture four and 6) and 47 (four- seven). I help
them find the page and say Look! This is a bee! I make a buzzing sound like a bee. Then I
ask them to imitate the bee sound with me.
4. After this I ask students what colour is the bee? ( It’s black and yellow) Is the bee big or
small? What’s under the bee ? (a flower) What colour is the flower? (purple).
Now, let’s take a look at this video!
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aXqYVSaHpl
After we watch! Let’s sing the chorus together!
Bees and flowers are outside! Let’s learn about more things outside! Slowly I show the
other flashcards
5. Development 17’
Activity 1
Page 47. I point at each picture and say : This is a rock. Then I hold a real rock and pass
the rock around the class for each child to look at. Then I point at the window and say
Are there rocks outside? (yes) I do the same with a leaf but first I show the children how
to hold it and pass it gently.
6. Now, Let’s say the words! While showing the flashcards (bee, rock, leaf) We repeat the
words twice.
Let’s play a game! Then I Take out a box. I hold it up and ask: What is this? Then I show
them the rock and the leaf . I put the rock (without them watching) in the box and ask
What is in the box? The leaf or the rock? Guess!
I repeat the same with the leaf. After that I include the other flashcards so as to recycle
vocabulary.
Activity 2:
Worksheet 2.6.1. I hold up the sheet point at the bee and ask, what is this? Good! Let’s
colour the bee! (holding up the yellow, black and green crayons) I ask What colours do
we use? (black and yellow) Same with the leaf and rock.
As we finish I invite the children to gather round and watch as I place the leaf and rock
pictures down. Then I put the bee under the rock and ask: Is the bee under the rock? Or
is the bee under the leaf? Then in pairs I ask them to do the same twice, because after
that is time to say goodbye.
The pictures will past on a poster and put away for the upcoming school art exhibition!
Closure 2’
