Teaching approach: In this lesson the approach on one side is Total Physical response, as
the idea is for students to use their body to imitate the animals sounds and dance along a
song to acquire new vocabulary. But is also task based, as the students have to complete an
activity in order to practice the new vocabulary and recycle previous vocabulary.
Integration of skills: The skills that have been integrated for this lesson are listening and
speaking throughout songs, flashcards, body kinesthetics and a worksheet activity.
material and resources: Video, Flashcards, Worksheets, Pencils.
Pedagogical use of ict: In this case part of the new vocabulary is presented to the students
with a song as a transition activity in order for them to be ready for the development of the
new topic.
Seating arrangement : as usual, students will be in their designated groups, in tables of 7
students.
Assessment in class: throughout the class, I will assess students with the kinesthetic
learning style, as well as with repetition and drilling. As soon as we start with the photocopie
I will show them how I paint my bee so that they can follow the procedure. I will monitor both
tables and to close the activities, I will check we all agree on how many bees, ladybirds and
butterflies are there.
Routine 3’
I greet the students as I walk in. We sit in a circle and sing the Hello Song:
Lyrics:Hello, Hello how are you? How are you today? I am fine, I am Great! I'm very
well today! This is Agus, This is Shanti (and we continue to name each student’s
name).
3. Warm up - Lead in 3’
I take out an envelope from my notebook and invite one student to take out one
image from it, once the image is out I show it to the students and ask, what is this?
We take 3 flashcards (a bee,a rock and leaf) from the envelope..
Then I ask, what is the bee sound? I imitate the Bee sound and invite the children to
mime the Bee like I do.
Now look! This is a rock (flashcard) and this is a Leaf (flashcard)
Transition 3’
We listen to a song and imitate the sounds of the different insects as we dance.

Let’s fly like a butterfly ( I move my arm up and down imitating a butterfly, students
imitate with me and say I am a Butterfly)
