Welcome to the Milky Way
Where the words take life again! Greetings from the
spectacular and marvelous space. The sky is the
perfect point to start with the present simple, and the
expression of facts. Use your daily things to express
your thinks about the milky way!
What is this?
When at night you look at the sky,
what can you see?
Is this the
sun?
When you wake up open the window and
look at the sky, what can you see?
A.Eclipse
B. Star
C. Sun
D.Moon
E. Meteor
F. Galaxy
1. A group of stars gas, and dust that stand together by the
gravity.
1. Natural satellite of the earth and is white like the snow
1. small rocky or metallic body in outer space
1. Luminous sphere hanging out there in the sky
1. The most wonderful and shining star of our system
1. When the moon moves between the sun and planet
earth
Activity: Match the nouns with the correct concepts
Answers
Present Simple
The simple present is used to:
1. Express daily routines
2. Define Facts about a topic
3. Give directions or instructions to
someone
The third person
Star + s = Stars
We add S to the end of the verb in the 3rd
person
Crash + es = Crashes
If the verb ends in SS, X, CH, SH or the letter
O, we add + ES in the third person.
Sky - y + ies = Skies
If the verb ends in a Consonant + Y, we
remove the Y and + IES in the third person
Examples of affirmative, negative and question
forms:
+ Jupiter is the biggest planet in our Solar System
+ Saturn looks like it has seven large rings.
-Do rings circle around Saturn?
-Does the Earth turn on itself and
around the Sun?
- The astronauts don’t walk on the moon
- Venus doesn’t have moon
TIME EXPRESSIONS
-Every day/week/year/Friday.
Every day the sun rises at the Sky
-On Mondays.
On Mondays rains at the city
-At the weekend.
At the weekend we can see the stars
-In winter/spring.
In winter the full moon appears
Adverbs of Frequency
We use adverbs of frequency to specify how often we practice or do some of our traditional activities.
The position of the adverbs of frequency is:
Subject + Adverb + Main verb
Earth always rounds the sun.
Subject + To be + Adverb
He is always happy.
Adverbs of Frequency
Always = The Sun always shines
Usually = Full moon usually appears
Normally = Earth normally rolls around the sun
Often = The skies often looks clear
Sometimes = Shooting stars sometimes appear in the sky
Occasionally = Eclipses happens occasionally
Seldom = Meteors seldom visit planet earth
Rarely = Planets alignment rarely occurs
Never = A galaxy never disappear
Adverbs of frequency
LISTENING
We are going to make a trip through the solar system, we
will have a guide that will tell us some important
characteristics of the solar system and then answer some
questions.
Let's listen it!
Play the audio here
Questions
here
let's practice
Instructions: Students need to read the question and write the answer in the
blank space and when the teacher says time, teacher is going to check and
compare the answers among everybody .try to use frequency It adverbs if is
possible
1- Is the sun a planet, a meteor, or a star?
2- Which planet has not moons: mercury, earth, or jupiter?
3- what is at the center of the solar system?
4- which planet is known as the "third rock from the sun"?
5- which planet is closest to the sun?
6- which planet is known as "the red planet"?
7- when you see a shooting star, are you seeing a planet, a moon, or a
meteor?
The Sun is a star
Mercury and Venus do not have moons
The Sun is always the center of the Solar Sistem
Sometimes Earth is called the "third rock from the sun.
Mercury is closest to the sun
Mars is the red planet
Shooting star is always a meteor

My name is___________ .I am the second planet from the Sun. I am the hottest planet, with temperatures as high
as 900 degrees. In addition to being hot, I am quite bright! If you are looking at the night sky from Earth, I am the
brightest object in the sky after the Sun and the Moon,”
I am _______. I think you know me pretty well. I am the third planet from the Sun. You are sitting on me right now!
You surely know that I have one moon. Lots of amazing plants, animals, and wonderful children live on me, and
hopefully take care of me! Have a nice day!”
I’m ________. I am the fourth planet from the Sun. I feel close to Earth because it is my neighbor planet. I am
special because Earth people always wonder if there is life on ________. Hey children, do you want to know
whether or not there is life on ________? Lean forward, and I’ll tell you. Closer. Closer. Nope, I am just kidding. I
want to keep it a mystery, so you will keep visiting me with your rovers and I can get to know you better!”
I’m __________, my orbit is the fifth from the Sun, and I am super special. I am the largest planet. I also have the
most moons—more than 60! In fact, one of my moons is larger than Mercury and Pluto, no offense. A lot of Earth
people think that only the planet Saturn has rings, but I have rings also— three of them. They are hard to see, but
they are there,”
Hi, _________ here. I am currently the ninth and last planet from the Sun, but as you heard I am a small planet.
People on Earth had a contest to name me when I was first seen from Earth through a telescope. The New York
Times newspaper thought I should be named Minerva. An 11-year-old girl thought I should be named Pluto. I am
glad the little girl won! Some Earth people think that I shouldn’t be called a planet, because my orbit is different
from all the other planets, and I am so small. They say I may be a member of a body of small objects on the outer
edges of our solar system.
Hi , I am __________, and I am the seventh planet from the Sun. My name is pronounced ‘YOUR a nus’ in case
you were wondering. I guess what makes me special is that I am tipped on my side compared with the other
planets and I have a pretty blue color
