HRM is management in planning, organizing, directing and controlling
of the procurement, development, compensation, integration,
maintenance and separation of human resources to the end that
individual, organizational and social responsibilities are accomplished.
3. MANAGERIAL FUNCTION OF HRM
Planning:- Determining in advance of a personal
program that will contribution to goals established for
the enterprise.
Organizing:- This is required to carry out the plans.
Relationships among jobs, personnel and physical
factors.
Directing:-Before the action is started direction is
necessary that forms motivation, actuation, and
command.
Controlling:- Observation of action and its comparison
with plans and correction of any deviation may occur.
6. This era is in between of 1750-1850.
During this phase mechanization and technological advancement took
place at a rapid place .
Machines and Technology brought in this period.
Worker do small portion of total job , working speed increased.
But due that worker becoming dull, boring with that job. Because
Target orientation started to full fill demands.
Industrial revolution
7. This era of scientific Managements is in 1856 – 1930 .
To Improve efficiency :-
F.W TAYLOR advocated the concept, “Selection of task by
worker make them physically and mentally perfect” .
Use of Mechanical elements and rearrangement of work
make a great combination.
Employee should be trained under supervisor and perform
well as exactly what demanded.

8. Started in 1920- 1940 (during World wars)
Workers became aware of their rights and they collectively
started protesting against the exploitation of employers.
Union tried to improve work through actions such as
Bargaining, resolving issues between workers , paying them
and by benefits.

9. Era was in 1930 – 1950
Famous Hawthrone experiments is conducted in this era by
ELTON MAYO and his Harvard colleagues.
Demonstrated that productivity is affected by not only way of
job design but also how the employee rewarded economically.
In this period , wide - scale implementation on behavioral
science technique is used in which supervisory training
program , concern and program to strength the bonds
between labor and management , also initiated counselling
program

10. Each Employee is unique and wants to be treated differently.
People does not like work basically. They dislike the management so for
their sake of growth structure should be maintained.
Employees are the assets of company.
