Director Impact and Innovation
Julien is a creative storytelling specialist with a passion for
social justice. He helps Fission clients navigate the rapidly
changing digital landscape and create websites, apps and
strategies to mobilize their communities.
Prior to joining Fission, Julien advocated for community-driven
HIV/AIDS policy and research with AVAC and helped small
nonprofits establish digital presences as an independent
consultant. He also worked as a freelance graphic designer.
In his free time, Julien enjoys exploring his adopted home city of
New Orleans and is deeply involved with local organizing for
racial and economic justice. He is in search of the perfect
sourdough recipe.

Anna Hovland
Project Manager
Anna manages campaign strategy from start to finish and has a
passion for progressive politics.She specializes in helping non-
profit organizations put their best foot forward by using the latest
communications technology, data analysis, and multimedia
tools.
At Fission, she develops and implements strategy, and provides
research support from start to finish. Anna has a background in
grassroots organizing and advocacy.
Anna is based out of Washington, DC. In her free time, she
enjoys biking and live music.
