When Do We Celebrate Thanksgiving?
In America the president Abraham Lincoln
declared on November 26th that the last
Thursday of November should be a day of giving
thanks. The congress in 1941 declared it a
national holiday.

Customs
The usual meal for Thanksgiving is Turkey,
carrots, potato’s, cranberries, and pumpkin pie
for dessert. Usually people add in other
kinds of food they want to eat with it as well.
Families, and or friends get together to bake
and eat these delicious foods.

More Customs
During Thanksgiving shops and factories are
closed down for the day so everyone can spend
it with their Family and Friends. The only people
working are News stations who are covering the
traditional Parades. Parades are full of floats and
balloons.

Thanksgiving Symbols
A common symbol with Thanksgiving is the
Cornucopia. The Cornucopia is a hallow horn
shaped basket that is filled with vegetables and
fruit. It is more of a symbol of the harvest before
Thanksgiving.
