This document discusses HVDC transmission systems in India and around the world. It provides details on several major HVDC projects in India, including their locations and transmission capacities. Some key HVDC systems in India transmit power from Rihand to Delhi at 1500 MW, Talcher to Kolar at 2000 MW, and Chandrapur to Padghe (Bombay) at 1500 MW. The document also lists numerous HVDC projects internationally, such as the Pacific Intertie in the US, connections between islands and grids in Europe, and systems in China and Japan.

•Due to rapid development of population in every country
consumption of power is increasing twice with in a
period of 7 to 12 years.
•In order to meet these requirements we need a efficient
and bulk power transmission system with more
reliability.
•In India the national power grid is operated from Delhi it
comprises of five regional grids
•Northern, Western, Southern, Eastern and North Eastern

• The HVDC Sileru-Barsoor is a bipolar HVDC with a voltage
of 200 kV and a transmission rate of 400 MW.
•The HVDC Sileru Barsoor couples two asynchronously
operated parts of Indian electricity mains over a 196
kilometers long overhead line
•The HVDC Sileru-Barsoor is a high voltage direct current
transmission system between Sileru,A.P in India and
Barsoor,M.P in India, which went in service in 1989
