AIoT(Artificial intelligence of things) is a relatively new term and has recently become a hot topic which combines two of the hottest acronyms AI( Artificial intelligence) and Internet of things (IoT)
2. 2
Introduction
AIoT involves embedding AI technology into IoT
components. This merge of AI and IoT is an great
tool whether you apply it in edge or cloud
computing. Its objective is to increase operational
efficiency, improve human-machine interactions
and upgrade data management and analytics.
When used the right way, AI can transform IoT
data into valuable information for improved
decision-making, both on-site and remotely.
Artificial intelligence executed at the edge offers an
incredible computing approach to provide local
data-informed decision-making.
4. Internet of Things is the internetworking of physical devices like
vehicles, buildings, electronic devices, sensors, actuators etc that
are capable of communicating among themselves or with the
external environment ( sensor to vehicles, vehicles to humans)
that are equipped with devices capable of communicating over a
network .
Artificial Intelligence is a field of computer science in which a
machine is equipped with the ability to mimic cognitive functions
of a human (or any being that is capable of cognitive thinking) that
can make decisions based on its past experiences or responding
to an action that it was completely unaware until that time.
6. ❖ BY INCREASING OPERATIONAL EFFICIENCY.
AI crunches the constant stream of data and detects the pattern not
deceptive on simple gauges. Machine learning, an AI technology can
predict the operation conditions and determines the parameters required
for ideal outcomes thus improving the efficiency.
❖ ENABLING NEW AND IMPROVED PRODUCTS AND
SERVICES.
Natural language processing(NLP) is getting better and better at
letting people speak with machines, rather than requiring a human
operator. AI controlled drones, robots can go where humans cannot.

❖ BETTER RISK MANAGEMENT
Pairing AI with IoT helps businesses to understand as well as predict a
broad range of risks and automate for the prompt response. Thereby,
it allows them to better handle financial loss, employee safety, and
cyber threats.
❖ INCREASE IN SCALABILITY
IoT devices range from mobile devices and high-end computers to
low-end sensors. However, the most common IoT ecosystem includes
low-end sensors, which offers floods of data. AI-powered IoT
ecosystem analyzes and summarizes the data from one device before
transferring it to other devices. As such, it reduces large volumes of
data to a handy level and allows connecting a large number of IoT
devices. This is called scalability.

Smart thermostats are thermostats
that can be used with home
automation and are responsible for
controlling a home's heating
and/or air conditioning.The
smartphone integration can be
used to check and control
temperature from anywhere.

Robots in manufacturing
industries
Manufacturing is one of the
industries that already embraced
new technologies like IoT, artificial
intelligence, facial recognition,
deep learning, robots and many
more. Robots employed in
factories are turning smarter with
the support of implanted sensors,
which facilitates data
transmission.

Smart Retail
Retail analytics involves
numerous data points from
cameras and sensors to observe
customers’ movement and to
predict when they will reach the
checkout line. Thereby, the
system can suggest dynamic
staffing levels to reduce the
checkout time and increases the
productivity of the cashiers.
12. Smart agriculture is a broad term
that collects ag and food
production practices powered by
Internet of Things, big data and
advanced analytics technology.

Sensor-based systems for
monitoring crops, soil, fields,
livestock.Drones,smart vehicles
for monitoring crops.

➢ AI and IoT are inseparable. The entire idea of artificial
intelligence is to capture more actionable data from IoT
devices.
➢ AI is more about making machines put in intelligent
behavior. Whilst, the function of IoT is to make these
machines connect.
➢ The future of industrial automation lies in the
convergence of AI and IoT. Artificial Intelligence of
Things will impact almost every industry verticle
including automotive, aviation, finance, healthcare,
manufacturing and supply chain.
