2. Artificial Intelligence (AI) is usually
defined as the science of making
computers do things that require
intelligence when done by humans.
A.I is the study of ideas that enable
computers to be intelligent
3. The ability to learn from
experiences and
apply knowledge acquired
from
experience , handle complex
situation
solve problem when
important
information is missing ,
determine what is
important , react quickly and
correctly to a
new situation , understand
4. Attempts to determine
whether the responses from a
computer with intelligent
behavior are indistinguishable
from responses from a human
5. Specific characteristics of intelligent
behavior :
1. Learn from experience and apply the
knowledge acquired from experience .
2. Handle complex situations .
3. Solve problems when important information
is missing.
4. Determine what is important.
5. React quickly and correctly to a new
situations.
6. Specific characteristics of intelligent
behavior :
6.
7.
8.
9.
Understand visuals images.
Process and manipulate symbols.
Be creative and imaginative
Use heuristics
9. Major branches of artificial intelligence
• Robotics
is the branch of technology that deals with the design,
construction, operation, and application of robots, as
well as computer systems for their control, sensory
feedback, and information processing. The design of a
given robotic system will often incorporate principles
of machine engineering, electronic engineering and
computer science particularly artificial intelligence.
The study of biological systems often plays a key role
in the systems engineering of a project and also forms
the field of bionics . The mathematical expression of a
biological system may give rise to control algorithms
for example, or by observing how a process is handled
by nature, for example the bifocal vision system, an
analogous system may be formed using electronics.
10. The rover was the remote - control led robot
used by NASA to explore the surface of mars .
11. Lucy
an orangutan robot, was a
pure research project to
develop some novel
theories about the
fundamental operating
principles of the brains
12. 2. Vision system
include hardware and
software that permit
computers to capture ,
store, and manipulate
visuals images and
pictures
13. 3. Natural language
processing
• Computers understand and reacts to
statements and commands made in natural
language , such as English
14. 4. Learning systems
Computer changes its functions or reacts to
situations based on feedback.
5. Neural network
Computer system that can act like or simulate the
functions of the human brains.
15. Artificial intelligence in gaming:
• In video games, artificial intelligence is used to produce the
illusion of intelligence primarily in the behavior of non player
characters (NPCs). The techniques used typically draw upon
existing methods from the field of artificial intelligence (AI).
However, the term game AI is often used to refer to a broad set
of algorithms that also include techniques from control
theory, robotics, computer graphics and computer science in
general.
• Since game AI for NPCs is centered on appearance of intelligence
and good game play, its approach is very different from that of
traditional AI;workarounds and cheats are acceptable and, in
many cases, the computer abilities must be toned down to give
human players a sense of fairness. This, for example, is true
in first person shooter games, where NPCs' otherwise perfect
aiming would be beyond human skill.
17. Human Intelligence VS Artificial Intelligence
Human Intelligence
Artificial Intelligence
• Humans are fallible
• They have limited
knowledge bases
• Information processing of
serial nature proceed very
slowly in the brain as
compared to computers
• Humans are unable to
retain large amounts of data
in memory.
• No “common sense”
• Cannot readily deal with
“mixed” knowledge
• May have high development
costs
• Raise legal and ethical
concerns.
18. We achieve more than we know. We know more than
we understand. We understand more than we can
explain (Claude Bernard, 19th C French scientific
philosopher)
19. My perspective
For Humans Intelligence is no more than TAKING a right
decision at right time
And
For Machines Artificial Intelligence is no more than
CHOOSING a right decision at right time
I think Artificial intelligence is the Second intelligence ever to
exist
