management system. Now, robust collaboration is possible on both goods and
services in a single solution, with tools that include:

Expanded Purchasing Units Companies have often been constrained to manage their procurement processes
based on geographies, business units, or ERP structures. Unfortunately, these
often don't support the way that companies actually do business. With Purchas-
ing Units, a new structure can be established that aligns the business needs with
the procurement solution, all while maintaining the GL integrity. New capabilities
in this area include:

• Budgeting by Purchasing Unit
• PO branding and text layout

Self Service Tools As companies need to respond more quickly to changing market conditions, they
don't want to have to wait for consultants or experts to make changes to their

Q: My organization is interested in adopting an enhanced/new feature
coming in Release 10s2; what do we need to do?
Some enhanced/new features will be enabled by default when Release 10s2 is de-
ployed, meaning your organization will be able to immediately adopt the feature if the
solution you own entitles you to that feature.
Other enhanced/new features will be disabled by default but are available for cus-
tomer configuration if the solution you own entitles you to that feature; these will be
identified during the Release 10s2 Features webinars and details on how to config-
ure them will be available in the appropriate Release Guide.
Still other enhanced/new features will be disabled by default and will require configu-
ration by Ariba; these will be identified during the Release 10s2 Features webinars,
and guidance will be provide in those sessions on how to work with Ariba to enable
the feature.

5. Ariba Procurement (Procure-to-Pay, Procure-to-Order and Services Procurement)
eForms
eForms give users the ability to customize the forms to their needs,
so whether they have specific agreements and terms for select
products, or unique service elements, all of their activities can be
handled effectively and online.
Improved Integration Several new features have been added to assist with this, including
• Support SAP Netweaver PI 7.1
• Web services for receipt export, requisition import, and master
data updates
• Streamlined Oracle integrations

Federated Process Control Federated Process Control functionality allows Organizations with
multiple ERP systems with their global procurement requirements to
integrate with Contract Management providing greater control over

Currently, we expect that Release 10s2 will be deployed in the August 2010 time-
frame. The specific deployment date will be communicated in an email sent to your
Designated Support Contacts no later than 30 days in advance of the deployment.
