Charles Schulz was the creator of the Peanuts comic strip. He was born in 1922 in Minneapolis, Minnesota and grew up in Saint Paul. He loved drawing from a young age, especially his dog Spike. Schulz created the character of Snoopy and the rest of the Peanuts gang which became a hugely popular comic strip series. He had a romantic relationship in the 1940s with a woman named Donna Johnson but she rejected his marriage proposal which deeply hurt Schulz. The Schulz Museum honors the character of the Little Red-Haired Girl from the comic strips by offering free admission to red-haired teenagers.
