Hard working BSc Psychology student at Aston University seeking a placement in a professional business environment.
I am hoping to gain invaluable experience while utilising my excellent communication and organisational skills. I also

WORK EXPERIENCE
Voluntary Support Worker - Integrating Children: January 2013-Present
Supervision of disabled children (aged 6-19) in a non-academic environment.
Responsibilities include supervising 4-5 children at a time. Wide variation of disabilities including severe autism
and Downs Syndrome, therefore I am required to be aware of each child’s individual needs.
I have gained several important skills, most importantly using my initiative in challenging situations in order to
maintain the safety and dignity of the children in my care.
In August 2013 I was promoted from Volunteer to Support Worker, where I took on more responsibilities
including supervision of volunteer workers.
Developed strong communication, organisational and adaptive skills.
2. Tutor - Explore Learning: March 2013-Present
Provide extra-curricular tutoring in maths and English for children of all abilities aged 5 - 14.
Responsible for a group of six children at a time.
Required to ensure that every child completes four activities within an hour-long session whilst recording notes
for each child and providing tutor support, thus demonstrating my skills in time management, multi-tasking
and ability to focus on the multiple individual needs of each child.
Developed teaching skills, using a variety of methods to explain a concept to a child to suit their personal style
of learning; has given me a deeper insight into the current education system and National Curriculum.
I have also gained experience of teaching children with Special Educational Needs such as Attention Deficit
Disorder and dyslexia.
Required to identify customer needs in order to maintain and improve the satisfaction of the parents, and also
to adapt learning programmes to suit the children’s individual needs so they get the most out of the service
we provide.
I have received training in literacy marking, primary school maths methods and behaviour management.
Compere trained: I am responsible for providing feedback to the parents at the end of each session.

and commitments to university societies (Psychology Society and Aston Netball Society).
