Come March 2018, our Himalayan
SaltCrystal Cave completes 3 years having
been launched on 12 March 2015. My
closefriendsandIhavebeenfullyutilizing
thesaltcaveandreapingitsbenefits.
Many spiritual personalities, scientists, doctors,
industrialists, wellness seekers have visited this place and
experienced it. Their feedback is astonishing and
fulfilling. Everybody has had their own unique experience
andfeltcompletelyrevitalized.
Atthesametimemanyseekershaverequestedustomake
the Salt Cave more affordable and accessible. Many of
them want to visit it frequently to enjoy this serene
atmosphere. Someofthemwant it formeditation,some
want it for relaxation and some for its curative effects.

this regard, many have approached me for a

Now my team has come forward with a novel idea of

As regards physical health, he says “Leave it to the body
and it will take care of itself”. In the context of lifestyle
disease like diabetes, the body does not get a conducive
environment to correct the deviated metabolic process
and hence the suffering. People have got themselves
cured of “incurable” auto immune diseases and cancers.
One can learn how to fight these psycho‐neuro‐
immunologicaldisordersthroughconscious efforts.
Presently, this Doctor‐Vaidya totally transformed into a
Rishi and built his Ashram at Hedathale near Nanjangud.
In this serene atmosphere he conducts training/courses
where one can learn mindfulness required for good life
and Bindaas living. This is a scientifically designed
program and there is no magic, miracle, side‐effects or
secrets.
Dr. Ranganath believes in cardinal principles to achieve
goodlife. Theyare:
Choose a life of adversity, it’s a simple life with
minimum necessities. Life of voluntary poverty is the
best life. This is contrary to consumerism. The desire
to buy things can never be satisfied. The more you buy
the more is the desire. Resist the temptation to
procure and hoard things. Al ambitions are hurtful at
theend.
Choosealifeofco‐operationandcommunityliving. It
is a life of inter‐dependence, relatedness and sharing.
It is an emphasis on collective work rather than

Choose a life of physical and manual labour.
Avoid dependence on machines, vehicles and
electric power as far as possible. Respect manual
labour. Do not depend on servants for your living.
Do all the necessary household work yourself.
Cleanyourtoiletandwashyourclothes.
Choose the life of a saint. Practice and cultivate
kindness, love, brotherhood and tolerance. Man's
innate nature is not all noble and sacred. Man is a
savage beast, a selfish brute. He can transform
into a kind super human by regular practice of
saintlyvalues.
By diligently practicing the above four cardinal
principles, we can change the hostile world into a
peacefulplace,therebywecantransformchangeour
genes.
Dr. Ranganath not only encourages people to follow
these principles but also applies them on himself.
ThisisapartandparcelofhisAshramLife.
According to him, Wisdom can be developed and all
aspectsofourpersonalitycanbechangedforgood.A
miserable person can be a happy person through
mindful effort and right understanding. Awareness
will arise when there are right conditions. Definitely,

written by Prof. DVS Iyer, retd Professor of MIT Manipal
and published by Vijay Foundation Mysuru, was released
on Jan 6th 2018 at the Institution of Engineers premises. It
seemed that all the engineers of Mysore, their friends and
families beelined to the SP Bhat Hall not only to hear Prof.
Iyer's experience with mudras but also to purchase the
book right away, so much so that the books were sold out
innotime.

(India) Mysore Local Centre, Mysuru had jointly organized
the book releasing ceremony. The book was released by
Swami Nityasthananda, Senior Swamiji Ramakrishna
Ashram, Mysuru. Dr. Shanthalaxmi Iyer, a wellness expert
from Atlanta USA and daughter‐in‐law of Prof Iyer was the
Guest of Honour. Mr. R. Narayan of Raghulal Health Mart
Mysuruwasoneofthepromoters.
Sri B.R.Pai and Er. M. Chinnaswamy chairman of the
Institution of Engineers (India) Mysore welcomed and
thanked the august invitees and audience, while Sri Arun
B.R.introducedthechiefgueststotheaudience.
In his asheervachana, Swami Nityasthanandaji Maharaj,
whohadearlierblessedthebook,broughtoutthefactthat
as the means of health have increased health has
decreased, as knowledge has increased, understanding
has decreased and as communication has increased,
communication gap has increased. In his youth, man loses
health to acquire wealth, and in his old age he loses wealth
to regain health. In order to gain future happiness, he loses
the present. Swamiji concluded that man lives as if he is
nevergoingtodie,anddiesasifheneverlived.
Dr. Shanthalaxmi in her talk mentioned that alternate
therapies like mudras have scientific basis and empirical
evidence, without any side effects. Conventional
medicine alone does not provide all the answers, since
they focus on illness and symptoms and not on the root
cause. A sense of feeling good, being upbeat, energetic,
and in the present moment, all lead to wellness. She
stressed on her 3 pillars of natural health food as
medicine, exercise as medicine and mindfulness as
medicine. She concluded with a suggestion to go for a
dailywalkandpractice5mudras.
Prof DVS Iyer said that he found mudras to be extremely
effective for tackling personal health disorders and for
maintaining normal health. Just 12 years back, the now
92‐year old professor had headache, stomach pain and
skin ailments. With regular mudra practice, he hasn't
hadaheadachesince.
The program was well compered by Mr. Venkateshan.
All in all, the book is a great way to spread the essence of
wellness.
