Titanium Life Podcast Episode 20: The Titanium Time Management Strategy Part 1
1. Episode 20
• Time is the ONE thing we all have in
common with the world’s most successful
people.
• The one excuse you can’t give is
someone has more time than you.
• We all have the same 24 hours in a day
and 168 hours in a week.
• Our level of success depends on how
we spend our time.

• The most successful people spend
their time investing in themselves.
• Bill Gates built Microsoft with
the same 24 hours we all have
each day.
• Take an inventory of how you are
spending your 24 hours each day.
3. vThe Time Management Quadrant
• A quadrant has 4 separate sections.
• This time management strategy separates all
activities into one of the four sections.
• The top row has things that are urgent
• The bottom row are things that aren’t
urgent.
• On the left are important things,
• On the right are unimportant things.
• Everything we do is a combination of
importance and urgency.
• This leaves four combinations:
1. Important and urgent
2. Important, not urgent
3. Urgent, not important
4. Not urgent or important

Where Should You Spend
Most of Your Time?
• Which section do you think deserves
most of your time?
• Most people think important and
urgent tasks deserve the most
focus.
• In reality, tasks in this section keep
you constantly putting out fires.
• To understand where to spend your
time, you need to understand
importance and urgency.

5. vDefining Importance and Urgency
• Important tasks are the things that
have to get done to get to the next
level.
• Things like looking at your financials
and building efficient systems are
important.
• Urgent tasks are things you have to
take care of as soon as possible.
• If you don’t, things will get worse.
• An employee breaking policy is
something you have to address
immediately.

6. v
All Urgent Tasks Were Important,
But Not Urgent
• The key to this time management
strategy is understanding the following;
• Anything that is important and
urgent today,
• Used to be important, but not urgent
at some point in the past.
• Take a heart attack for example.
• A heart attack is important and
urgent when it happens.
• If you exercised and changed your
diet six months back,
• You could have avoided the heart
attack.

7. vFocus on Important Things Daily
• Your goal is to start focusing on the
tasks that are important, but not yet
urgent.
• Schedule time for these important
tasks in your daily routine.
• Start with one important thing a day
and work your way up to three.
• This transition will be hard at first.
• You will have to sacrifice things you
enjoy that are time-wasters.
• It won’t be easy, but it will be worth
it.

8. vUrgent Things Take More Time
• While this time management strategy
seems more time-consuming in the
short term,
• Doing the important, but not urgent
tasks today saves you time in the
long-term.
• Doing important and urgent tasks often
takes MORE time because they are
messier.

9. v
Doing Important Things Daily
Creates a Snowball Effect
• Do one task each that avoids an urgent
task:
• tomorrow,
• next week,
• And next month.
• Once you get a week into this system,
you’ll start to notice small benefits.
• You’ll have less important and urgent
tasks than you usually do.
• By the time you get to about week five,
you’ll find yourself with an entire day you
can spend doing the things you love to do.

10. v
You’ll Eventually Have More Time
to do the Things You Love
• Then the second or third month
comes around.
• You decide to invest in your
future by ramping it up to five
important things a day.
• It’s more of an investment in the
short term, but it gives you even
MORE time for yourself in the future.

11. vWhy People Fail With This System
• Most people who fail with this
system make the mistake of not
investing the necessary amount
of time in the beginning.
• This time management system
takes HARD WORK.
• It’s not a magic formula.
