2. Step 1
• I firstly created a new
document in Quark
Express.
• I then set the paper
size to A4.
• To show where my
text boxes and
images would go I
created 3 columns.
3. Step 2
• Secondly, I made my
document facing
pages so it would
match with my front
cover made in
Photoshop.
4. Step 3
• I placed my image
boxes and inserted
them to improve the
effectiveness of my
magazine.
5. Step 4
• I added a text box
and made it into 3
columns so the text
would move the next
column- looking more
professional.
6. Step 5
• To improve the
overall look of my
contents page I
changed the colours
so they matched the
genre of magazine-
Indie Music.
7. Step 6
• I added graphic
features to my
contents page to
make the
subheadings
‘Features’ and
‘Regulars’ stand out.
8. Step 7
• After positioning my
images I decided to
change the layout my
adding more images,
to try and make it
more appealing.
9. Step 8
• I decided the images I
would add would also
have graphic features
under the images to
make it look more
professional.
10. Step 9
• To make my
magazine look more
like an already
established magazine
I made the text a size
smaller to 11pt.
