11. Tips
About 4-5 points in this section MAX
To get recognized by the employer, add some skills
from the job ad into this section (*NOTE: This may
also help for applying online)
Organize your points to your liking and to what you
feel is stronger
Showcase yourself- there is no shame in it !
Have more than 5
points or less than 4.
Always aim for at
least 4 or 5 points.

the accomplishments made at your former workplace
16. Volunteer Work/ Community Involvement
An optional section for people who have been
volunteering
Shows that you are active in the community
May show some skills relevant to the job
You format this section as you would the work history
section
Example:
Kitchen Server 2015-Present
Knights Table
Three duties minimum explaining what you did
Accomplishments you made for the organization
And skills you developed through your time there
18. Accomplishments
Add accomplishments like certificates, qualifications,
awards received that showcase your skills and give
you an edge
An example:
Accomplishments:
Student Appreciation Award 2012
Employee of the Year Award 2014
19. References Available Upon Request
It is an option. If you do not have a lot of content on
your resume, references is something you may want
to mention because employers may require it
It is not in trend right now to use in a resume
However, it may be necessary
Just add it to the end of your resume
References Available Upon Request
Put someone down as
your reference without
asking them first.
20. Tailoring to a Job Ad
Look for keywords of appropriate industry language
to use in your resume
All job ads explain what the employer is looking for,
so use that and incorporate it in your resume
See job ad examples
Job Scan website can be used as a tool to see if you match with a job ad
Not all resumes that go through an online website go straight to the employer, they may be scanned by a database first to avoid resumes that lack qualifications
