Technology start-up teams typically look like – Founder, Designer, Developer, Marketer. Rarely do they mention a Business Analyst! Pragmatic business analysis speeds up the start-up journey, ultimately saving significant time and money for founders bootstrapping their businesses.
Walking through a case study, we’ll explore the custom application development process successfully used for early-stage start-ups in the dental and financial planning industries.
Presentation Value/Learning Points:
In this session you will discover:
• How a start-up mindset can improve how you plan, capture and validate requirements
• Requirements gathering approaches best suited for custom application development
• How the Wizard of Oz can help you identify a minimum viable product
• Techniques for working with stakeholders new to custom application development
Erin Clark - Managing Director
Erin is an internationally recognised innovation expert, delivering training and consulting across the Asia Pacific. She works with corporates to innovate like start-ups and start-ups to scale-up.
Erin has led a business analysis consulting practice, managed large teams of business analysts and spends a lot of time flicking through the BABOK – but has never held the job title of ‘Business Analyst’.
Erin started her career in the journalism industry. To prove that an Arts Degree can take you a lot further than working at the local McDonalds, Erin has since worked in Indonesia, Malaysia, Hong Kong, Singapore and New Zealand. After a crisis of confidence in her IT and business skills, she also graduated with a Graduate Certificate in IT Project Management from UTS and a Master of Business Administration from UWA.
Erin now takes great pride in the ability to translate between humans and nerds to drive better outcomes, often using interpretative dance.
