There are a lot of ways to have emotional immunity, but these slides will present you with a whole new strategy to develop it.

Let's make the world today a worthwhile place to live in—with happiness and faith.
2. The internet has some good
stuff on emotional immunity.
There are great ways out
there to deal with
vulnerability when it comes
to your emotions and mental
health, but I’m here to let you
explore the Islamic approach
to getting emotional
immunity.
3. Physical health is very important. In Islam being healthy
and well-built is fundamental because you perform your
duties better, you are quicker to help people that need
assistance, you live longer, you are happier. Living well is
an act of worship, and Allah loves a strong believer more
than a weak one (and both are beloved to Him).
1. Be a strong believer

4. 1. Be a strong believer
A strong believer is sometimes described as a “man” (لَرُج),
and in such contexts it doesn’t refer to males only. A man
in this sense is a person that is strong in his or her faith
and that is always true to his or her word—among other
things. Men like these are few, that’s why it’s so esteemed
to be one. To be a man is a merit and as one your rank is
higher in God’s sight.

5. To sum it all up, physical stability is a great way
to be strong on the inside.
1. Be a strong believer

6. Physical strength isn’t very efficient when it’s
not combined with the other essentials. One
of these essentials is praying on time and
regularly. By “religiously” I mean praying all
five prayers every day, as well as mindfully
and devotedly.
2. Pray religiously
1/6
7. If you still haven’t learned how to pray, now is
the time to start. Don’t wait any longer. Every
prayer that you miss as a Muslim is an
additional black spot on your heart. After a
while you’ll be too numb to want to get out of
your darkness and help yourself. Always
hurry in doing good deeds.
2. Pray religiously

8. If you know how to pray, that’s awesome!
You just need to do your ablutions and the
rest follows. Easy first step, huh? Ablutions
are the ritual that, once done, makes
everything afterward a piece of cake (a great
way to apply the ritual principle I learned
from James Clear in Atomic Habits).
2. Pray religiously
3/6
9. Once you become proficient in praying, you start
introducing mindfulness if you haven’t already,
and a nice way to do so is by saying heartfelt
“Astaghfiroullah” (i.e. I seek forgiveness from Allah)
a few times in an audible whisper (while
envisioning a few specific sins you have done and
regretting having done them with a feeling heart)
and reciting Allah’s Name a few times in your heart
before saying the first “Allahou Akbar”.
2. Pray religiously

10. 2. Pray religiously
This way you enter your prayer purified and
your heart is prepared to address Allah.
During your prayer recite the words slowly
and let the meanings of what you say seep
through your veins. Invoke Allah when your
face touches the ground (which is when you
are closest to Him) and feel that He is
watching you in your every movement.

11. Praying is a way to preserve the connection
you have with God, and this ensures that you
will stay invigorated with peace and strength
and energy that Allah gives you. God’s
support is all you need to keep floating and
become a professional swimmer.

12. I discuss this point in this article. What’s more,
entrusting your life to God allows you more
freedom than you’ll ever believe. It’s logical if you
think that when you no longer have to mind and
control everything in your life, you have more space
to think of what brings you and others happiness.
Entrusting your life to God rids you of selfishness
and arrogance too because you no longer attribute
achievements to yourself and rely on yourself to
make things better.
3. Entrust your life to God
1/4
13. Plus you will start thinking of others more often (did you
know that Islam is the religion of community? As a
matter of fact, if you think only about yourself, you won’t
go very far—and you also might harm others
inadvertently). You will start feeling love towards
individuals you never thought you’d ever stand and
you’ll start working for your salvation in the Hereafter
rather than keep salivating over the ephemeral
pleasures of this mundane world. You’ll become a better
believer, which means you’ll be stronger, which means
you will achieve emotional immunity more surely.
3. Entrust your life to God
2/4
14. When it comes to living through challenging
times or in a challenging country, know that
Allah knows what’s best for you specifically. He’s
making you go through all that you’re enduring
because it tailors who you’ll become because of
your hardships. You’ll become extraordinary,
and if it’s not right now, then it’s for your own
good. The best way to live is to be content with
what you have been given.
3. Entrust your life to God
3/4
15. Remember that God can see the unseen and you
can’t; there’s no way of knowing what it’ll all lead
to later on (and maybe what awaits you is a
marvelous surprise). Just trust, your life is bound
to adjust. But if you need help, ask for it, this is
not a lack of bravery but an act of wisdom and
self-love (just make sure you reach out to the
right sources). So get all the help you need,
because it’s all part of the Plan.
3. Entrust your life to God
4/4
16. Yes, you have heard that a
lot, but that’s only because
it’s so substantial.
4. Do not care about people’s opinions
1/7
17. First of all ask yourself why others’ judgment
of you means so much to you. Is it because
you’re living in a demanding society? or
because you feel they have control over your
safety and happiness? There can be many
possible reasons, but the one solution is to
believe that God is greater than all those you
think or who think they can torment you.
4. Do not care about people’s opinions
2/7
18. Listen darling, your aim is to please God, so if you
expect to win people’s favor by doing something bad
like pranking a teacher or drinking alcohol, it’s you
that’s losing. In fact, if your target is pleasing human
beings in what displeases God, these people will
eventually turn against you and be displeased with
you anyway. And vice versa: doing something that
displeases people but that pleases Allah will
inevitably put them on your side one day (and this
day will come).
4. Do not care about people’s opinions
3/7
19. In both cases God’s judgment is what you
should care about; it’s what’s supposed to
make you change your behavior
accordingly. I told you about all this to
show you that people are useless in that
manner; they will not help you improve if
you keep trying to make them okay with
you. Sometimes it’s hard not to care but
we’re all working on that.
4. Do not care about people’s opinions
4/7
20. When your objective is Allah and not them,
they will sense your strength. They’ll
admire you—or feel intimidated, jealous, or
indifferent—, but either way you win. Hello
peace of mind! You’ll become glorified in
the environment you never saw for what it
truly was: mediocre and sad.
4. Do not care about people’s opinions
5/7
21. Not caring about others’ opinions doesn’t
mean neglecting yourself, though. A Muslim
is clean, wears neat clothes (without having
to buy expensive brands), and is kind to all.
Keep your faith-fueled dignity and you’ll
notice how you’ll find clarity and tranquility
in your mind and heart (poor heart it was
bearing too much).
4. Do not care about people’s opinions
6/7
22. Don’t let anyone trample on
you. Predators smell weakness
and what you should be is a
strong believer. You’re higher
than the average strong person
in that respect.
4. Do not care about people’s opinions
7/7
23.
24. I’ve given you only four tips to get emotional immunity but they are
hefty. You’ll get many chances to apply them and they will help you a
lot. Even if you believe you’re happy without doing any of them, you’ll
be even happier once you start living on those principles. God is the
origin and towards Him is the destination, so don’t lose sight of your
goal. And don’t despair; it’ll only delay your arrival to happiness.
25. We are all learning about life, so let's do it right.
