The key project challenge will be to find effective solutions for trusted and
secure sharing of data streams spread across multiple data platforms, to
exploit the added-value business that one gets from combining and
integrating data from diverse platforms.

Smart Dispatcher: The Smart dispatcher,

automatically assure common user consent over
data shared from diverse platforms and provide
trusted tracing of data use, as well as
automating contracting.

Key innovations of smashHit Framework
Data use traceability: The Framework will
assure full traceability of data use
(including control of metadata), including
data fingerprinting to enable traceability of
data in case of data leakage.
Automated contracting: Automating
contracting over all involved stakeholders
(data owners, data providers, service
providers etc.). It will be established by
developing set of building (agreement)
blocks which can be (automatically)
combined and adjusted to the specific
users’ needs.

• Connected car is an extremely useful and valuable source of data, e.g. for
data-based risk-assessment solutions for the insurance sector
[Usage-Based Insurance (UBI) & Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS)]
• Diverse Partners and Data platforms are involved in consent process
• Key challenges to be addressed are:
• to simplify the consent process through automated contracting (reduce steps and time
taken to obtain required data etc.) -> increase % of consumers
• monitor consent over time to address the situations of changed vehicle ownership and
multiple drivers per vehicle -> alerted if the “consent chain” is broken
• identify sources of any misuse of data -> Fingerprinted data to ensure traceability
• time-critical nature of consent -> the time required from enquiry to quote for a consumer is
now measured in sub-second speeds: multi-step consent flows often slow down the
process and lose consumer interest

• Reducing entry barriers to local vehicle data to local businesses
• Concerns about the security and privacy of data sharing need to be considered
• improve acceptance of the services by both data owners and service providers and users
• Creating trust and motivating the users to share their data by offering solutions users find
valuable
• Creating a sustainable model in the data sharing which would encourage creating new
business opportunities
• Bridging the gap between the data and the capabilities in using the data e.g. in city traffic
