2. How does my magazine use, develop or challenge
forms and conventions of real magazines?
• My magazine uses many conventions of a real
magazine. These include putting images of
celebrities on the front cover with stories about
them to make the audience want to read. I also
placed short and interesting headlines to attract a
wider audience, that will be in more detail inside
the magazine.

3. How does my magazine represent particular
social groups?
• I represent a typical college student who is doing
his AS Levels at college. My music magazine
represents musicians of this genre and focuses on
younger adults and teenagers who enjoy listening
to the music that is found in my magazine.

4. What kind of media institution might
distribute my magazine?
• For my magazine, I would choose a distribution
company that already distributes multiple
magazines that are well known to the public. For
this reason, I would choose IPC Media as they
distribute many magazines such as NME, Nuts and
Now.

5. Audience for my magazine
• The target audience for my music magazine would
probably be teenagers, young adults and any other
people who may like rock music. The target
audience could be any gender, but is more likely be
more towards males.

6. How did I attract my audience?
• I attracted the audience for my magazine by using
several methods, such as placing well known bands
on the front cover to attract their attention and I
also put stories on the front cover that the audience
would feel intrigued to know about, but they have
to read the main article inside to read the rest of
the story.

7. What have I learnt?
• During the process of making my magazine, I have
used new software such as Adobe Photoshop. This
has given me the ability to remove any errors that
there may be in photos that I had taken for my
magazine. I have also learnt that the use of
questionnaires on internet survey sites can hugely
help with research into contents and target
audience for your magazine.

8. Progression to the full product
• Over the past several months in media, we have
learnt about many new types of software and
methods to improve our work in class. This could
be anything from the use of photo editing software
(Photoshop) to remove errors or improve the
quality of a photo, or simply researching layouts of
magazines from the internet for use towards our
own projects.
