How fair trade works
Down our local shop yesterday, we were excited to see the small
square PG Tips packets sporting the Rainforest Alliance frog label with
accompanying text that told us that now 50 per cent of PG Tips tea
comes from Rainforest Alliance-certified farms, and that the tea
company aims to make that 100 per cent by 2010.
So this means the people that do the growing get pay just as much
and they have a better place to grow there tea in so that is way
better then paying the company more and giving the growers like
10%
Tea and how it is grow and sold: first of all the farmer gets the seed
and plants it in the ground they grow it and then they harvise it then
they put it in sacks then the companies like Tesco or asda come to
buy the tea for a fair price then they sell it in there store for a fair
price
We should buy fair trade because u know what the money is going to
and the pepole that work for the company will get paid fairly
