DigiFin Workshop with Lee Axon
06/02/2023
The workshop was with Lee Axon. He was a personal trainer who decided to make a promo video
for his own programs. After he made his reel, he was asked by other trianers to make a video for
them. At this time Lee was using his phone in order to record and edit the content. After people
had seen his content, other trainers and eventually gyms, were asking him to record promo videos
for them.
Once Lee realised he had an eye for the art he began to practise more in his craft. After a while he
approached an aston martin dealership and asked if he could record and edit a video of a car, on
his phone. The dealership agreed and they were stunned with the results. Keeping in mind Lee
was using his phone, he slowly began creating more and more content.
Once he had built up his experience, he bought a sony camera and started his business full time.
He prides his business on being fast and high quality. Being the one man band he does everything
from planning to editing and fianlising the product he delivers. Since his business was known for
being fast, he decided to name it DigiFin. Standing for “digital finish” he wants his business to be
the high quality, digital finish to your brand.
Never attending college or university, Lee is completely self taught. Being mostly self taught
before college, Lee inspired me to see the end goal and keep seeing mistakes I make, as progress.
Lee came to the college in order to try and show us that anyone can change their life into what
they want and that you are never too old to change your business choices. Once he finished
sharing his story, he gave us a practical task of making a promotional video for the college.
From seeing Lee, I have understood that mistakes I make can be something good. Making a
mistake within my work will allow me to change my approach or change my methods within the
future. Not putting myself down is what he inspired me to do.
Showing his videos that he shot on his phone, has shown me that is is about your skillset and not
the gear that you have.
