2. Charco Verde
The Chico Largo Natural Reserve is a local protected area
between the two volcanoes on Ometepe, in the lower part of
the island. The area encloses a lagoon, forest and a beach.
The lagoon is called Laguna Verde and is separated from the
lake only by a narrow piece of land. The lagoon serves as a
home for many birds. Charco Verde Beach is one of the best
beaches on Ometepe.

3. It’s a perfect place to rest
• The calm and private beach called Bancón is perfect for swimming and
relaxing. You can walk through the forest and reach this beach and
return to the reserve entrance in an hour if you do not stop at the
beach

4. On the walk, enjoy nature
and you will also be able
to observe the mainland,
which is visible from this
side of the island. At the
entrance of the reserve
there is a hotel (Hotel
Charco Verde), where the
beach is located.

5. Low cost hotel and restaurant
• The hotel provides rooms and a restaurant where you can drink and
eat something. Kayaks can be rented at the hotel. From your kayak
you can explore the coast and you can even enter the lagoon.

6. If you have a fishing net,
you can even fish from
your kayak! You can enter
Charco Verde from the
Hotel.

entrance fee of less than a

being able to use one of
the rooms to change and
the hotel.
