Community Radio Stations are usually funded by charities as they do not have enough money to
fund themselves. As they are Community Radios they make no profit.
Oldham Community Radio is funded by 3 companies which consist of Oldham Council, Sports relief
and Zen internet. These sponsors are able to help them carry on broadcasting, as Oldham is only a
small community, so it is quite hard to get the funds required. These companies help as they are part
of the Oldham community and want to help the public receive updates on what is happening in their
community. Oldham community Radio’s presenters are all volunteers either working for experience
or have retired and therefore want to help their community out.
