First you have to start with the sender’s address, then you put the date in. Next you put your own address

Every letter has a greeting and the receiver's name… ,[object Object],Dear Mr. Rickard In a informal letter it is likely to be something like this… Dear Nana and Dodo

[object Object],I heard that you, Nana, have got a very bad cold so I decided to write and see how you are! Dodo your birthday is coming up so Happy Birthday!

It is important to state the purpose for writing ,[object Object],I am writing to explain why I think the Newbury School staff deserve an island holiday.

The body of the letter comes next. ,[object Object],Our formal letter to Mr Rickard should have a body that explains the purpose for writing. It might look like this…

Madeleine’s informal letter to her Nana and Dodo should have a body that explains the purpose for writing . It might look like this… Did you hear that we won our netball? The score was five one.
