Leong has extensive experience as a director and senior
engineer on major commercial, residential and industrial
projects throughout Malaysia in both Civil and Structural
engineering capacity.
Meanwhile, he also graduated from University of
Westminster, UK. Bachelor of Civil Engineering(Hon) and he
also Professional Engineer, The Board of Engineers in
Malaysia .
3. 1. Civil and structural engineering are used to
denote two engineering disciplines.
2. Structural engineering deals with the design,
analysis, building and maintenance of load
bearing or resisting structures. Meanwhile,
civil engineering was defined as any
engineering that is not related to military
engineering, but in the present, it is used to
separate or distinguish civil engineering
discipline from other engineering disciplines.
3. Civil engineering and structural engineering
covers from private to state and small to huge
projects.
4. 1. Basically, Structural engineering is
about analyze, design, plan, and
research structural components and
structural systems to achieve design
goals and ensure the safety and comfort
of users or occupants.
2. Also, usually considered a specialty
discipline within civil engineering, but it
can also be studied in its own right.
3. Meanwhile, most structural engineers
are employed in the construction
industry, however there are also
structural engineers in the aerospace,
automobile and shipbuilding industries.
5. 1. In a project, how do you handle the
team co-operation?
Normally structure engineer was
co-operative throughout meeting
or group discussion with architect,
civil engineer, quantity servay and
sometime interior design.
2. What is difference between Structural
Engineering and Civil Engineering?
Structural Engineering normally is
design structural component for
the whole building, while Civil
Engineering is doing construction
for the whole building, such as road,
drain, water supply and etc.
