2. Evaluation Overview
This evaluation form is designed to assist you in the evaluation of your projects.
When using this form it is good practice to:
• Use appropriate terminology.
• Stay concise and focus on key points.
• Evaluate and analyse your statements.
• Focus on judgements about work rather than telling a story of how it was made.
Please find the grading matrix here to help you assess you are working at the right level.

3. Project Overview
In this section you will outline the aim of the project/task and give an
overview of the activates you undertook to complete it.
4. What was the theme of your project and
what attracted you to it?
• The theme of our project was future and nature, we agreed that we
would each individually be able to produce some work following
these topics and make them relevant to the rest of the project.
5. What research did you undertake and how
did it help develop your project?
• I started my research by looking at some statistics on social media
regarding age and gender, then I had a look into colours, more
specifically which colours are neutral between boys and girls, as the
website welcomes both genders. This helped me to develop the
project because I knew the conventions that were required.
6. How did you develop and improve your ideas
throughout the project?
We used our research throughout the project to develop our ideas, as
we researched more, we realized what changes we could make to the
project, an example of this is colour schemes, and logo research.
7. What was the outcome of the project/task?
• The outcome we wanted was to have a website inclusive to a wide
age range and several things to do on the website, we wanted the site
to look aesthetically pleasing and like something that would be
popular in today's world.
8. Personal Response
This section will explore your thoughts and feelings about the
experience. This will help gain a understand of how your personal
feelings may have impacted the final outcome.
9. How did you feel about the project before
you started?
• I was looking forward to starting the project, as I knew we would all
be able to include some input towards the project as it is something
we are all very used to and use every day, therefore we know what
the target audience would be looking for.
10. What do you think about your project development and
how did it help you to refine your idea?
• I think as we progressed further, we were able to refine our ideas, this
is mainly because of the research we did, but we also tried to make
everything we did the most group-oriented as possible, this included
everyone making a logo, everyone choosing a colour scheme and
other production conventions. We decided on which one of them was
the best and used that one, the colours and style of the task chosen
helped us to refine the ideas.
11. Did you collaborate on your project or engage
contributors, etc?
• We all contributed evenly throughout the project, everyone had their
own ideas, and we all came together to piece them together. In some
of the tasks, the favorite project was chosen, and this was what we
used to go forward with, such as a logo we all liked.
• With some of them, we all worked together to create one final piece,
this was done by someone starting a project on photoshop and
showing the others, and asking what improvements could be made
throughout.
12. How did you feel when the project was
completed and why?
• I was satisfied with my work, in the end, I had made a promotional
video for the site which was something that I had not done before, so
I managed to learn some new things such as how to create a
voiceover on premiere pro.
13. Evaluating the project
In the previous sections, you have been commenting upon the project development. The
evaluation may include some similar information but it will also include critical comment.
An evaluation must include information about the good and bad points of the project and it
is important to be honest. Finally, you should make a judgment about the effectiveness of
the success of the project
14. What were the good points about the project/task and what did you
learn from them? [try and think of at least 3, more if possible]
• I was happy with how our photoshop work looked like in the end, I
think we managed to reach a fairly decent looking level with all of it
that worked nicely for the website.
• I’m glad I used after-effects to create an animation, it was the most
difficult animation I have had to create yet and I am happy with the
way it turned out.
• I like the interface of the website, I feel as if we managed to capture
the real look of social media and make our own version, it was a good
interface to navigate.
15. What challenges did you face and how did you
respond to them? Try and think of at least 3...
• When we got to the production section of our project, we all had to
do an individual piece of work, I slightly struggled to think of a
different one from the rest of the team, meaning that my work might
not have been the best it could be as it was not my initial idea.
• I struggled when thinking of a new animation style for the logo/ident,
so I spent a bit more time on this section than I had planned to, to
avoid this I did some research on idents.
• The theme of our project was nature and future, it took us a while to
think about how to tie this in with our work and what fits both
categories.
16. What were the negative points about the
experience, and what could you have done to
improve them?
• Throughout the production of my promotional video, I had a problem
with the screenshots of the site when embedding them into my
premiere pro, the photos looked blurry, which had an impact on my
final product.
• I think my final product could have been a bit better, I think in the
future I will do a screen recording instead as it makes the video
slightly more interesting and it gives the viewer more to focus on as
the video progresses, I think it also could have done with being a bit
longer.
17. How would you rate the final piece? [think along the lines of
poor, satisfactory, good or excellent...justify your rating]
• I think my work was overall satisfactory, it was good, but there was
room for improvement, to start with I was a bit confused about the
aim of the project, with this in mind I most likely spent a bit too long
trying to make it perfect at the beginning before I knew what I
wanted to do.
18. What is your opinion of your final piece? What
elements do you think are successful and why?
• I am happy with how the final product has come out, we maintained
a specific aesthetic throughout and stuck to it throughout, creating a
theme throughout the project, this meant the whole site keeps a
professional look.
19. How did you design appeal to your target
audience?
• We made sure to keep a simplistic design throughout the production
of our website, we researched the favorite colours of people in the
age range and utilized this information to our advantage by making
the most popular ones our reoccurring colours, for example, we used
them in our logo.
20. Analysis
In this section, you will focus on the details of the project and make
sense of what happened in the project. You should demonstrate how
your decisions informed the project development and the success of the
outcome.
21. In what ways was the overall project a
success?
• I think that the overall look of the website was a success overall, we
each produced our own bit of work to go towards the final products
and I think they worked well alongside each other, we worked with
each other to make sure that our work was
22. What elements did not go well and why?
• My ending video was not up to the standard that it could have been,
The quality of the images decreased a lot once they were put into
premiere pro, which meant that the product looked quite messy and
unprofessional. I tried to resolve this issue by re-taking the images,
but every time they came out in 240p.
23. How did your skills develop during the portfolio? [remember,
skills aren't just technical, remember things like organisation,
time management, communication, etc as well]
• I think my teamwork skills advanced throughout this project, as there
were three of us on the same project, we all had to work alongside
each other to make sure that the outcome was up to standard. We
made a group chat on teams and debated with each other what we
can do to make our work look visually pleasing whilst keeping a
theme the whole way through. We also gave feedback to each other
about the work we had completed, this meant we discussed what
improvements could have been made, and other general help with
how to better the work.
24. What meaning and messages did you want to
convey and were you successful?
• We wanted to make sure the site was appropriate for both male and
female users, we did this by researching colour schemes and which
ones are gender-neutral, once we found this out, we made sure to
make these colours recognizable with our site, they were used in our
logo and throughout the website.
25. What would you do differently in the future
and why?
• I think next time I would focus more on the overall project instead of
just small segments. I think I spent way too much time making sure
that everything was completed that I didn’t make it up to the
standard it could have been at, next time I will take my time focusing
on making each section and making sure that it is completed up to a
good standard.
26. What knowledge have you gained that would help you in the
future to improve your project? Also, what knowledge from
academic literature and professionals has helped and why?
• I've learned a lot about the impact that research makes on a project,
specifically in this project. Without the amount of in-depth research
that we did the ending product would have been completely
different. Our research swayed our project completely in almost every
aspect, this includes color, text, and the images we chose.
27. Action Plan
This section will identify what you would do differently in the future and
identify ways you could develop.
28. If you were making a similar project in the
future, what would you do differently?
• In the future I would make sure to focus on researching how to create my
product to make it look how I intended it to, this will include doing
experiments before finding out the best outcome of the video. This was
something that I failed to do this time around which changed the outcome,
the video was blurry, meaning there was a lot of room for improvement.
• I would also make sure I have a rough plan for every segment so that I can
start to create the base work that needs to be done in order to keep up to
date.
• I also think that making a timetable to manage my work would become a
big advantage towards the product, it will help me focus on specific parts
when they need attention.
29. How could you develop your skills for future projects? Please
identify the appropriate resources and courses. For example,
webpages, tutorials, books, short courses and qualifications.
• I can focus more on creating a wider range of publicity for my FMP.
This means creating social media pages displaying my work so people
can get an idea of what it is, making a website that includes a small
portfolio of what I have created, and a clear view of the message I’m
trying to get across if there is one involved.
• I will make further improvements on my projects by looking at
YouTube tutorials, this will be helpful because I will skip out a section
of trial and error and allow me to complete the project faster, giving
me more time for improvements after.
30. What personal attributes could you develop to
ensure you are working at a professional level?
• I could stick to a strict timetable to make sure that I never fall behind
on my work, I think getting feedback throughout is also a great way to
improve my work and ensure that it is the best I can physically make
it.
• Doing as much research as possible will help me to gain more
knowledge on the subject, therefore being able to make my work on
the same standard as I am working at.
