First things first, no I don’t mean that squash. And I’m also not talking about a glass of squash that you can drink … I’m talking about the beautiful, majestic and totally addictive game of squash!
If ever a sport could make a grown man cry it’s squash. When you play squash you’ll get knocked and bumped out of the way and the fact you’re trapped in a small glass box only heightens the competitiveness and the pressure as you’re confined right up close and personal next to your competitor.
Squash is not for the faint hearted – in fact many people have actually had heart attacks and died playing squash! You do not play squash to get fit you have to be fit to play squash in the first place. You will literally be ringing with sweat when you step off court and what better feeling to then jump in a nice hot shower knowing you have had a major workout!
You only ever need to play squash for a 40 minute slot to have a good workout and you will be totally flaked out after that!! No need for long boring gym sessions etc. So handy in fact you can even fit it into you’re lunch our or before work.
You’re not aimlessly running on a treadmill – you’re playing for points and trying to chase a little flying rubber ball around.
Squash is not just about braun it’s about brain. You have to be a tactician and workout how to outwit and outsmart you’re opponent. Think of it like a game of chess but with rackets and balls and all conducted at uber lightning speed!!
If you’ve had a hard day in the office you can literally hit the little rubber ball around as hard as you like and totally let off steam!
Last but not least … it’s played by fit men and women!!
Professional squash players earn diddly squat next to professional footballers.
I can’t think of another sport where you can get so close to the professionals – literally within touching distance. You can chat to them etc.
To enter the Olympics, for instance, an event must be practiced in at least 50 countries (35 for the Winter Olympics), on three continents, by men and women. Squash meets all those criterion, so there’s no problem there.
It can be played outdoors…
By Jahamgir Khan in 1981 – 1986 – completely unbeaten for 5 years (today a 10 match winning streak is considered good). He comes from Pakistan and won the world open 6 times and is considered the greatest player of all time.
According to Wikipaiedia …Squash has been recognized as the world's healthiest sport. Squash provides an excellent cardiovascular workout. In one hour of squash, a player may expend approximately 600 to 1000 calories (3,000 to 4,000 kJ),[4] which is significantly more than most other sports and over 70% more than either general tennis or racquetball. The sport also provides a good upper and lower body workout by utilising both the legs to run around the court and the arms and torso to swing the racquet. In 2003, Forbes rated squash as the number one healthiest sport to play.[4] However, some studies have implicated squash as a cause of possible fatal cardiac arrhythmia and argued that squash is an inappropriate form of exercise for older men with heart disease.[5]
Hello, My name is Rob I have been making a feature film, for the embarrassingly long time of nine years And I’m going to share some of my experience, and, hopefully a bit of wisdom, on why it has taken so long
Synopsis
Shooting List locations Do not shoot broken
Moving cast, crew, props etc across the country, is not rocket science, that’s just organisation What has been the challenge, was that there was sometimes up to a year between these shoots, mainly down to the fact, the film is self funded If I was to do it again, I would of saved my money first and shot all in one go
Post Production has been 2005 – 2010, we still got the sound design to do, but the bulk of the work is now finally done. There have been three Editors along the way, and whilst a fair amount of time was lost in post due, to myself being out of the country. We have had a fair deal of timewasters.
The film itself, over a 120 people have been involved , all bar one have given their time effetively for free, well ..Beer
Wonderfull Naïve And enthusiastic
Script suffered the most in the beginning
Some post production delays
UK houses being wankers – outsourced to spain
Would do again – yes, but with someone else money
I want to talk about getting back to a time when things were crafted, had imperfections, wobbles even but they had character
Hello. I'm Matt Edgar and I love Holbeck's amazing history of innovation. I want to tell you a story of green sand and subterfuge, of an attempt to derail the career of one of Leeds’ business pioneers.
It all happens about 200 yards and 200 years away from this very room. Our hero is Matthew Murray, a Geordie engineer whose start-up makes engines for the textile mills of northern England.
Murray is competing with the more established business of Boulton, Watt and Sons in Birmingham. James Watt Senior is a Scot who made important improvements to the steam engine. But the villain of this piece is his son, also called James.
By his mid-20s, Watt Junior had already been mixed up in the French Revolution. Now he’s going to write the playbook of dirty tricks in business. And Murray's foundry right here in Holbeck is his target.
How would you react if your business was threatened by a new competitor? Would you bury your head in the sand? Would you try to improve your products? Or would you see what you could learn from the newcomer?
Boulton, Watt and Sons do the latter. Boulton and Watt's records tell how two of their staff, Abraham Story and William Murdock, come to stay with Matthew Murray here in Holbeck.
“ They were admitted into every part of Murray’s maufactory & spent two evenings with him and by virtue of a plentiful dose of ale succeeded in extracting from him the arcana and myseteries of his superior performances.”
The visitors assure Murray that they'd happily share their secrets if he’s ever in Birmingham. “I did go to Soho,” Murray says, “and was refused admittance...” Can you hear the betrayal?
Boulton and Watt understand that people are your biggest asset. So when a couple of their staff come to work for Murray, Watt Junior himself leads a mission to lure them back with an offer of increased pay. And threats of prosecution.
But having contracted one of them back, Watt is in no hurry to get him back to Birmingham. He writes home: “He is to remain with Murray as long as we may direct and to make application to try his hand at the green sand.”
“ Steal with pride” they say. Watt writes that the other defector: “may leave his letters in his working clothes” and would to ascertain whether they are worth taking.” There wasn’t.
But perhaps the most audacious tactic employed by Watt in his feud with Murray is his venture into real estate. Why?
As Watt openly puts it in a letter to Matthew Boulton, he’s looking to see “whether we could purchase anything under their very nose that might materially annoy them & eventually benefit ourselves. ”
Boulton & Watt buy a 1.5 acre plot next to Murray’s works which slows their expansion. But another site – a malthouse overlooking Murray’s yard itself – eludes them because the widow who owns it asks too high a price.
If you can’t innovate, litigate – Murray has patented a number of improvements to steam engines. Boulton & Watt challenge these, claiming that some are not original. Murray maintains they are but cannot match Watt’s legal firepower.
Instead Murray keeps his focus on his customers: “But the World I believe cares very little about Messrs. Boulton and Watt stealing my Inventions, or my stealing theirs;" he says, "what people want of us are good engines…”
What happens next? Well, in the long run both businesses prosper. Murray goes on to provide the engine for the World’s first commercially successful steam railway, at Middleton Colliery, near Leeds.
Matthew Murray dies in 1826, and is buried fittingly under a cast irom obelisk at St Matthew’s Church. His firm outlives him, going on until 1843. A plaque in Holbeck calls him “the father of Leeds engineering”.
Boulton and Watt lasted 120 years, making steam engines until 1895. Curiously James Watt Senior, not Murray, is commemorated by a statue in Leeds’ City Square. This does not seem altogether fair.
Want to know more? The letters and advertisement are published in full in “Matthew Murray: Pioneer Engineer,” available on archive.org or in book form from Tee Publishing.
1 No height, width or depth – impossible to fathom UNTIL NOW! We devised a probe to travel to the 1 st dimension and have the video it took there
2 - Flatland – read the book About a 2D race of people like people on a playing card Basically flatland is a 2D place twisting and weaving throughout the 3 rd dimension This is what you look like to a flatlander
The easiest dimension to understand – you’re in it. We are 3 dimensional creatures, living out our own stories in a lowly dimensional plane.
We travel through the fourth dimension in slices – imagine the real four dimensional you as a big slug that is all the matter in all of those slices from the day you were conceived to the day that you die! We captured a fourth dimensional being and took it back to my kitchen for dissection.
Imagine the big squiggly worm not just occupying the space of your life, but all the space of all the possibilities that ever happened in your life Each arm is a sliding door
That is why fractals are so beautiful to us, they give us a glimpse into a dimension just out of our reach
But we’re still trapped within the possibilities of our world – our own timeline of every possibility since the big bang The 6 th dimension imagines the very first alternatives – what about a universe where the big bang happened in a slightly different way Physics is still the same, but everything from the beginning of time is slightly different.
This is the world of Middle Earth and Fantasy
With 6D you’ve got contained all the possibilities of everything that could have possibly happened from any event that is even vaguely conceivable since the beginning of time. That’s pure infinity. How could you possibly have any further dimensions? That’s where it gets interesting. Imagine a universe with a completely different. Infinity – something that didn’t start with the big bang, but something else. It has a different set of laws of physics, IF such a thing as physics even exists. Imagine – the big burp, the big bum or the big Ben (I hope there’s someone called Ben there). We know these worlds through dream & death As Storyhunters we have found a gate to the 7 th dimension right here in Leeds – Meanwood Valley is a hive of magical story activity and tonight we can reveal amazing footage of the fairy gate.
If 7 is a gateway to another reality, not an alternative universe, but an alternative everything the 8 th dimensional creature has mastery over all ideas, can traverse worlds beyond physics, can reach between worlds and cause anything within her will to happen.
Like a small God or a superhero. Imagine being able to reach from one reality into another, pull a thunderbolt through the 7 th dimension and destroy anything within our little 3D world at will. I can destroy one bar(???) in Leeds – what’s it going to be? Superheroes
The 9 th dimension is the last step before everything and it contains everything. If you lived in the 9 th dimension everything you imagined would happen instantaneously, leaving you under the sad, misguided and deranged impression that you were the omnipotent creator of everything when, sorry to say, observer of everything...
...you are just a tourist How lonely must it be to be God. Believing that everything you do is created by you. How can you ever find love in a multiverse where nothing will ever surprise you?
The final dimension IS everything, it’s not a journey, it doesn’t have a timeline and it’s reasonably unfathomable to the likes of you and me. The 10 th dimension is Nirvana Meditate with us
Some say that there’s a final dimension, 11 or 0, and some say it goes back round to 1 again and everything is nothing and nothing is everything. Whatever the truth remember that we are but worms carving our own path through the apple of everything and creating our own stories and histories – and that’s the important story, the one that you’re telling right now. Love your lives and the stories you create people Thank you!

Diversify, specilialise, know your audience and split into interest types.
It’s a lot more about being timely, providing perceived value and something people can run with themselves
The next few minutes could be the most important journey of your life. On this journey, I ’ m going to ask you to let go of your precious money and instead, embrace truly fabulous wealth. But finding this wealth will not be easy; so it is sensible to have some kind of guide. a..
2. I ’ m going to give you a quick overview of how it works. It works like a regular SatNav but instead of directing you to a physical destination it directs you to a life destination. You turn it on and you can choose from various settings. Now you need to be really careful with your choice because it can be for life.
3. Life ’ s choices boil down to two basic options - MN and TN. MN is the Las Vegas of the soul. It is all bright lights and noise but the odds of you gaining anything of value are heavily stacked against you.
And Magnetic North is so attractive because it glitters with wealth, power, fame.. Things that have nothing to do with happiness but hey, who wants happiness when there is money to be made? Here you are caught in the loop traffic of consumerism, a one way system that goes nowhere.
These are some of the settings found in MN. This is the default setting..and it’s the one most people use because they never bother to find out if there are any more. More Experienced users sometimes refer to this as the, ‘make me like everyone else’ setting.
The road to hell paved with good intentions setting, where you keep meaning to read the manual but you can’t be bothered to do the research so you never get round to it. As a result, most of your endeavours in life come to grief somewhere along the line.
Zen setting
Your story doesn’t exist except as an idea. Imagine you had lost your memory and you could start from scratch. My dad lost his memory trying to tame a wild horse. What sort of story would you write for yourself? What would you rather be doing? The truth is, you can write whatever time line you want and you can make that story happen if you want to.
The Goal setting. Our goals are often linked to financial outcomes and can lead to extremes. Do you know someone who is so intent on their goal that they don ’ t seem to notice any of their journey. That ’ s because they are usually too busy trampling over people. Then, when they arrive at their destination they are quite often disappointed.
11. You either go round the loop traffic again or you realise that you ’ re going round in circles and that your soul is suffering. your SatNav is telling you to ‘ turn around where possible ’ . If you ignore it, there is only one setting left for you to endure.
the Oblivion setting, which always leads to a dead end. It’s followed by people who are desperate NOT to be like everyone else - rock stars, kids with guns and knives. I know we all eventually arrive at this destination but there is no point getting there any quicker than you need to.
And so we make a u turn and find the signal. A strong signal on your SatNav for the Soul reveals MN to be the destination that it really is, there is absolutely nothing there to nourish your soul.. .For our journey along TN we are going to need to get some fuel.
And make sure you use the correct fuels for your soul engine. To fuel our journey to TN we need to use our talents - the things that you are good at., passions - the thing you love doing, and purpose - the thing that makes sense out of everything. When these are combined correctly they can produce an explosive mixture. It’s so powerful that..
BOOM! You can sometimes set the world on fire! But remember, your talents, passions AND purpose have to be of equal strength. And when you are turbo charged your SatNav shows you a private road, a wide open motorway that allows you to put your foot down.
This is actually the road that everyone wants to be on. Today, we think of it as escaping because we so rarely experience the moment when we are so absorbed in what we love doing that we forget who we are. But it’s not escaping, on the contrary, it is coming home. It is a place where we are..
At one with the world. .Here we realise the connectedness of all things. We cannot do anything in isolation and everything we do has a consequence somewhere else. This means we have to be mindful of what we do and to take responsibility for all of our actions.
This is the ‘power save mode’. You assume you’re headed in the right direction and you’ve been travelling along the same stretch of road for so long now that you’ve started to fall asleep at the wheel. When things get too easy we drift into an all too common hell ride; confident, cocky, careless.. Crash test dummy.
And When you are a crash test dummy bad things are made to happen to you, things you can’t control. You don’t want that. You will notice that this is also the default setting for the SatNav for the Soul®, the ‘make me like everyone else setting’.
Right now, I am in front of you and you are, hopefully, following my words. But as our journey’s continue from here, you will inevitably find yourself in front of others, And they will be looking at you for clues as to how they should live their lives. So you need to decide which path you will show them - MN or TN. Navigate well my friends.
