In Rumonge commune, malnutrition screening made in December 2016 identified 1,268 children below 5 of age suffering from acute malnutrition, i.e 5.15% of all population Under 5. Within this group suffering from acute malnutrition, 412 children or 31.7% are identified with severe acute malnutrition i.e with a high risk of mortality. With its partners PEAB and RCRSS, Christian Aid is implementing a health project in south of the country. Christian Aid plan to contribute to the reduction of the impact of the Impact of food insecurity in Rumonge Health District by supporting household with identified case of severe acute malnutrition or at high risk of poverty, promoting good practice towards prevention of malnutrition, contributing to food security and diet diversification and contributing to social cohesion.
